14 Year Old Takes Bat to Would Be Burglar

14–year-old Michael Six of Mesa, Arizona foiled a would-be burglar in his Mesa home by whacking him twice with a baseball bat.

The ninth-grader heard his home being broken into, locked himself in his room and called 911.

When the burglar broke into his room and confronted him, Michael grabbed a baseball bat and smacked the low life in the lower back and shoulder. The big guy bailed out into the waiting arms of the Mesa Police department.

Police believe Thomas Gonzales Garza, 30, may be connected to other burglaries in the area. He is being held without bond on charges of suspicion of residential burglary, aggravated assault on a minor, criminal trespassing and criminal damage.

Nice work Michael!!

Now that makes me smile. Serves the thief right. Lucky thing he had the bat!

Absolutely fantastic. Way to go Michael. I also like the way you describe the situation, particularly the term "low life". Quite apt. Nice post.

It always makes me happy when a criminal gets smacked around by a "victim." The would be burglar probably learned more from that 14 year old with a bat that he will from the jail time.

Wow! This kid is so amazing. It would have probably taken all his guts to do that! I mean, if I were on that situation, I could have just called 911 instead. Way to go kid!

Brave kid. If I were in that situation, I may be scared to death. I think the Burglar forgot the movie "home alone"... he should think twice when dealing with a kid.
