The 15th Anniversary of September 11th, 2001 is nearly upon us. Once again, thousands will come to the Tempe Healing Field to remember those who lost their lives that day.
The Exchange Club of Tempe, along with some awesome members of our community, will once again erect nearly 3000 flags to honor each one of the victims of this attack.
I hope you will join me in attending this worthwhile event. Walk the Field, reflect upon those we lost, reflect upon the freedom we hold so dear. Come to one of the planned events or just visit the Healing Field when you can this Friday – Sunday. It is something you will not regret, and it is something we must never forget.
People come from all over the country ( and world ) to visit the Healing Field. Each flag is marked with the name of a victim from September 11th. Truly a moving experience.
There will be a brief memorial ceremony that will include a presentation of colors, music, prayer and the reading of the names of the first responders who gave their lives. The memorial ceremony will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 5:46 a.m., the same time that the first plane struck the World Trade Center. Following the ceremony, a reading of the names of the nearly 3,000 victims will take place at 7 a.m. The public is encouraged to participate. Later that evening, a candlelight vigil with music, prayer and guest speakers will occur at 7 p.m. As the keynote speaker, former Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman will reflect upon the events of September 11, 2001. – City of Tempe

If you are on Instagram, just tag your photos with #HealingFieldAZ so we can all see them! If Pinterest is your thing, you can share them there, too.
Here’s a great video that shows why the Tempe Exchange Club continues to put their heart and soul into this event every year. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to become more involved with making sure the Healing Field is able to continue each year. It’s a lot of work and takes a lot of resources to make this happen. 2016 Healing Field Sponsorship Information can be found here.
The Tempe Healing Filed is located at Tempe Beach Park. Parking can be a challenge during peak times. If you can take the train, it can be an easy way to get to and from the event.
The Phoenix Real Estate Guy has been a long time supporter of this awesome event. As a member of the Exchange Club of Tempe, I want to thank ALL of the people who attend.
I hope to see you at the Healing Field this year!
