Blog / Comment Policy
Blog Policy, Rules and Such:
This policy is valid from 8 May 2005. Last updated August 14, 2008.
Here comes the legal-speak. Sorry, but it’s a necessary evil…
This blog is a personal blog written and edited by Jay Thompson. For questions about this blog, please contact me (Jay at ThompsonsRealty dot com). Opinions are that of the blog post author (which the vat majority of the time will be me). When I present data, it is believed to be accurate, but is not guaranteed. You should never make financial or real estate decisions based on anything you read on the internet anywhere without first consulting your financial adviser, CPA, attorney and/or real estate professional.
The owner of this blog is occasionally compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. Even though the owner of this blog receives compensation for some posts or advertisements, we always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
Less than one out of four hundred posts are paid/sponsored posts. Paid/sponsored posts will ALWAYS be prominently disclosed as such within the sponsored post and/or post title. UPDATE: We no longer do paid/sponsored posts. Please don’t ask.
This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. We believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity.
This blog does not contain any content which might present a conflict of interest.
Comment Policy:
Reader comments are encouraged! But please, be civil. This does not mean you have to agree with anything I say here. In fact, I welcome debate and encourage people to express what they feel.
Spam is not tolerated on this blog. I loath spam. There are multiple spam filters in place here, but occasionally something slips through. When I find them, they will be deleted. In addition to the “typical” spam of things such as prescription medication, porn and deeply discounted software, blatant self-promotion and advertising will not be tolerated. I understand the need to advertise a business or product. Heck, some will argue that this blog is nothing but advertising for my real estate business. But then again, it is my blog and my business…
I don’t want to be put in a position of determining whose advertising should be here and whose should not. So the rule is no advertising in the comments. If you want to advertise on Phoenix Real Estate Guy, see this post.
Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be deleted.
I will *occasionally* edit a comment, but will *never* change its intent. The only thing I will edit a comment for is format, and then only if it “breaks” the blog display. I will also edit the occasional URL to “hot link” it for the convenience of other readers. Strong language may be edited — kids read here. Trust me, I’ve been known to drop the F bomb, but let’s keep it off the blog please. “Less intense” words are OK on occasion.
Collection and Use of Personal Information:
I hate spam more than you do. I will *never* sell or release your email address to anyone, unless order to do so by a court of law. I also despise old school hard-sell sales tactics and will never send you any form of marketing material unless you specifically request it.
Copyright:
All content on Phoenix Real Estate Guy is protected by US Copyright. “All content” means all content — text and images. “Fair Use” allows for small portions of text to be used and quoted as long as there is a prominent link back directly to the post URL — permission is not required for fair use (and is encouraged!). If you want to use a photo, ask. I’m really pretty accommodating. “Scraping” this site and/or RSS feed and/or republishing content without permission is unacceptable. We will aggressively pursue any and all legal avenues to protect our copyright and intellectual property. Trust me, you don’t want to go down this road. Content theft sucks.

Would like to contact anybody out there that is an investor with Right Place Properties. What’s going on? Has any group of investors been formed to deal with the current situation?
TIA

Hey there – what’s wrong with me? I’m in Minnesota enjoying -30 temps and watching the Minnesota Vikings do what they do best…you’re down in sunny Arizona doing WHAT? The Hutchinson MN real estate market is fair, homes are selling slowly, but steadily. We’re hoping once spring hits the lakeshore will pick up, too. Feel free to come visit anytime!
Nice comment policy Jay. I receive a ton of comments on blogs hosted on other platforms, but get very little on my own domains. I’ve installed Lucia’s Linky Love, and might install a few versions of Comment or Keyword Luv to stimulate comments. I’m finding the best blogs have a written comment policy, so I’m here getting ideas.
I think all blogs should have a comment policy in their blogs like this in order to protect their blogs.

Jay’s note: Ironic as hell isn’t it that a spammer leaves a spam comment on the blog comment policy page….
I hate spam but to me the definition of spam is somewhat else. I f someone had read my post and had given a good and insightful comment then I dont mind him advertising on my website. But see the comment above by bestmanish it is spam in its true form.
absolutely terrific
Hi, possibly i’m being a bit off topic here, but I was browsing your site and it looks fine. I’m writing a blog and trying to make it look neat, but everytime I touch it I mess something up. Did you design the blog yourself? Could someone with little experience do it, and add updates without messing it up? Anyways, good information on here, very solid.
