Usually my “Site of the Week Month Quarter when I get around to it” revolves around real estate.
This time not-so-much (though our “office” typically winds up being in a local coffee shop, preferably one with free WiFi).
Chris Tingom, a 27 year old web designer / developer in Scottsdale has done a masterful job with Arizona Coffee.
The blog “exists to spread the word about independent coffee shops in Arizona”. And it does that very well.
Reviews, discussion, news and more await you in a very well designed site.
My favorite spots on Arizona Coffee?
The List – a lengthy list of independent coffee shops, sorted by town with links and notation if free WiFi is available. Incredibly handy.
The Map – a Google map of dozens of locations. Includes address and phone numbers. The only thing I’d do differently is use a different marker for those shops that offer free WiFi – but that’s a minor complaint.
Of note: Many “Arizona” sites tend to be Phoenix-centric. While the Phoenix metro area does dominate at Arizona Coffee, any site that includes places like Yuma, Bisbee, Arivaca, and Overgaard truly can wear the “Arizona” tag.
If you are looking for coffee in Arizona, you need not travel any further than Arizona Coffee.
For some reason, I’m thirsty…

Very interesting and when I drive down from Las Vegas I will know where to go to get a good cup of coffee. Thanks for sharing:)
As much as I drink coffee, I stay away from the expense of the coffee shops. Besides, I make a mean cup of mocha (or cappuccino) right here at home.
I’ll have to give arizona coffee a shot next time I’m in the area! I haven’t had my dose for the day and now you have me getting thirsty for some!

Nice! I’ll check the site out – sounds like a great coffee resource. I’m sure I’ll like the list with the wifi info.
Nice find. The wi-fi list alone is worth bookmarking the site!
A couple of months ago I needed to find a hot-spot in a part of town I don’t hit too often, so I looked online & found 2 UPS shops that had pay-for-service (of course.) But I needed it, so I printed the map & headed out. When I got there, one of the stores insisted they didn’t have wi-fi, and the other store’s “computer person who does that kind of stuff” was out that day… This site would have come in handy.
Nice idea and its always good to know the coffee and wi-fi hot spots!
I just found Arizona Coffee on Twitter a couple days ago – via TweetScan, but missed the “list”. Chris’ list of local coffeehouses will be invaluable when I’m out of my home area. Good catch, Jay!
Wow thanks for saying such nice things about Arizona Coffee! The site has been going strong for 3 years now.
Glad to have found so many friends on Twitter!
Thanks again for the kind words.
Chris
Man, I’m definitely jealous. We don’t have a site this awesome in Virginia. But now that you’ve pointed out the great idea, maybe I should create one!
That is a pretty nice site. I love when people find a little niche like that and provide a great resource. I spend a lot of my time working in coffee shops. Austin has quite a few cool little places.
I too noticed Arizona Coffee via Twitter this weekend. And some might say that social networking has no value…hmmmm.
