[...] Blogs Will Grow as Tool for Real Estate (Originally posted May 17, 2006) Well avid reader’s, our little spot here in the blogosphere was mentioned (sort of…) in the Arizona Republic today. I spoke with the reporter, David van den Berg, at length last week about real estate and blogging. He was a nice guy, and asked a lot of great questions. I wish he’d had more space to print some of them. I also wish he would have printed the URL to this blog like he did with everyone else he quoted, but oh well, nothing I can do about that. Regardless of what the article says, I don’t maintain this blog with the sole purpose of driving traffic to thompsonsrealty.com. That’s just one of many goals for this blog. The main goals for this blog are to give me a place to opine and write, to provide information and yes, to help drive traffic to my main site (where if it’s information you are looking for, you will find a veritable treasure trove.)
Congrats on the mass media recognition! I wouldn't worry too much about his URL omission. Anyone interested in a blog already knows how to Google. I'm impressed with the number of Real Estate bloggers you've got out there. We don't have nearly as many out here.

Thanks WCW, I appreciate the comment! BlogArizona is a very good blog, lots of info. A little too much "in your face" marketing for my personal tastes, and not nearly enough tangents :) but a great blog none-the-less. They've got lots and lots of info there and obviously put a lot of work into it.

The other RE blog mentioned is by a contributor to BlogArizona. I wouldn't say it's a joke. I got the feeling he puts more into BA than his personal blog. And there's nothing really wrong with that.

I think it'll be interesting to see how blogs and real estate mix. People thought I was nuts when I started this. (Some still do. Time will tell. I'm having fun with it. The added avenue for getting out info and the increased exposure certainly can't hurt. But you can't blog if you don't enjoy it....)

Thats too bad the reporter didn't include your URL. I checked out the other blogs mentioned in the article. Blogarizona is pretty good. The other one is a joke. The URL is really a web site. Theres a "NEW! BLOG!" link, but the blog it links to is rarely updated. Yours is by far the best of those mentioned.

And hell no there is nothing wrong with showing your personality. Thats what blogging is all about!
