Carnival of Real Estate is Up at Altos

Altos Research does their typically stellar job hosting this weeks Carnival of Real Estate.

Some great reading to be found here.

I do wish they'd share the link love and provide direct links back to the recommended entries though. I don't get the funky re-directs (or whatever they are). Can someone explain it to me?

The Carnival is on a break for July 4. But it'll be back the following week.

I'm a real estate broker in Phoenix, Arizona and the publisher of the Phoenix Real Estate Guy blog. I tend to drive too fast and scream at the University of Texas and Denver Broncos football teams. My two kids are smarter than most adults I know and my wife is simply amazing.

The Phoenix Real Estate Guy runs on AgentPress

AgentPress is a specialized WordPress theme for real estate agents and brokers, powered by the industry standard Genesis Framework. With AgentPress on your team, you're empowered to get the most out of WordPress for online marketing.

Genesis provides the secure and search-engine-optimized foundation that powers any successful website. And AgentPress provides the specific listing and lead-generation functionality real estate pros need to succeed.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

I am wondering if the Altos blog was never claimed on technorati. That would explain why it is not showing up on your dashboard. Or is it now.

Hey Mike - One of the things I like about WordPress is that trackbacks just work -- I do nothing, and they work.

I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out trackbacks on TypePad blogs. See my post "OK, So I'm an Idiot. I Don't Get Typepad Trackbacks"

I tried to get this post to trackback to you - no go even with my manual attempt. I see no one else that has linked to your Carnival results are showing up as trackbacks either.

As for the link love, I'm not so sure it is shared. There's no indication in my WordPress "dashboard" whenever you link to me, and I just looked at Technorati and can't see it either. Maybe Google can tell... I'm not familiar *at all* with your blog provider, so it's a mystery to me how it's doing things...

But, life isn't all about link love. Altos is a *great* blog -- it's the content that counts, not the link love...

can someone explain it to me too? We made the mistake of choosing an obscure blog server a couple years ago and haven't had to cojones or time to change everything over since then.

I've always been baffled by trackback tracking...randomly trackbacks work from our posts. I have no idea why the blog software formats the links that way. I /think/ you get the link love, though, despite the way the links are written. Don't you? Damn, I hope so. We certainly don't use nofollow on the links.

will investigate further.
