Cool Blog of the Week

I can’t remember where I ran across this blog…. MyBlogLog or StumbleUpon probably. Maybe someone’s blogroll. Don’t remember, doesn’t really matter!

But I do know that every time it pops up in my feed reader (which is basically daily), I say, “Wow, that’s cool”.

PadStyle is a visual feast. It is jammed full of photos of some wicked cool home furnishings and accoutrements. It’s certainly not verbose, but every entry I’ve seen has pertinent links back to the manufacturer, artist, whatever the case may be. I don’t know where they find this stuff. Some posts will have you saying, “Ugh, I won’t put that in my house”, and most will have you saying, “I MUST have that, now.” All dependent on your personal taste of course.

Check it out.

I'm a real estate broker in Phoenix, Arizona and the publisher of the Phoenix Real Estate Guy blog. I tend to drive too fast and scream at the University of Texas and Denver Broncos football teams. My two kids are smarter than most adults I know and my wife is simply amazing.

The Phoenix Real Estate Guy runs on AgentPress

AgentPress is a specialized WordPress theme for real estate agents and brokers, powered by the industry standard Genesis Framework. With AgentPress on your team, you're empowered to get the most out of WordPress for online marketing.

Genesis provides the secure and search-engine-optimized foundation that powers any successful website. And AgentPress provides the specific listing and lead-generation functionality real estate pros need to succeed.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

great site.

I am a Modernist at heart.

Great site thanks for sharing.

"I like blogrolls, that is how I find new blogs."

I agree with this.

This is how I found this blog and many other great ones.

I have read linking out and not receiving a link back is what causes damage to you PR and thus causing a lower ranking.

I am a newbie but it makes sense.

Keep up the great work.

I love this blog.

It really inspires me.

Hello Si, thanks for stopping by! And you're more than welcome. PadStyle is great stuff!

Jay,

I've been to IKEA, save yourself the trip.

In case you don't know blot is my term for blog bloat. :)

I like blogrolls, that is how I find new blogs.

I'm thankful that Sellsius put us on their blogroll right away. That is how most people have found us. Without blogrolls I don't think anyone would be reading or visiting us.

In this case I don't care what RSS Pieces says, they have a completely different roll and goal from our real estate blogs.

They also advise creating controversy and pissing people off. I want our readers to come to the blog for information, resources and sometimes a good laugh. I want readers to see my blogroll and find other great blogs to read and enjoy.

Blot is never good, but a trim fit blogroll I think benefits all.

Jay, I like blogrolls too, but that Mary's post does have me considering taking mine down. I know that I check out blogrolls on other sites though and probably would miss a lot of good reading without them.

Dave - couldn't really call myself a Modernist, but I do like a lot of that stuff. My own home is furnished with comfort in mind. And some of that stuff doesn't really fit that.

I'm probably one of the few that has never stepped foot in an IKEA!

Andrew - I did see the RSSPieces post on blogrolls. Mary really knows her stuff, but I happen to like blogrolls. I know I look at them. Mine was getting too long, so I did the 10 random posts on the main page (thanks by the way!) and have the full list on a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/full-roll/&...; rel="nofollow">separate page.

For those that missed the RSSPieces post on blogrolls, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.rsspieces.com/2007/01/18/does-your-blog...; rel="nofollow">it's here (I grabbed it off my feed reader as RSSPieces does indeed seem to be down right now)

Interesting that you mentioned that you may have found a link to that site on someone's blogroll. Did you the post at RSS Pieces today? (Sorry, the site seems to be down right now so I can't give you a link.)

It basically was saying that having a blogroll on your site or being included in others is actually bad from a search engine's point of view. I'm still not completely convinced to take mine down yet, but it has me thinking about it.

Jay,

I had no idea you were such a modernist.

I'll bet you shop at IKEA.

Hi Jay, this is Si Lee over at PadStyle. I just wanted to say thank you for mentioning our site, it means a lot. Take care and keep up the good work!
