Enabling retaggr

RetaggrLogoI’ve just installed “retaggr” on Phoenix Real Estate Guy.

What the heck is “retaggr”?

It’s an online business card. And more.

Here’s mine:

It’s interactive, go ahead, mouse over and click on some stuff..

Those with retaggr accounts (which are free) will have a little icon displayed by their names should they leave a comment here. Click the icon, and you’ll see the commenters retaggr profile displayed — and be able to get to know them just a little better.

It’s kinda cool, and if nothing else, gives you an easy way to put all those social media/bookmarking type sites you belong to all in one place.

Assuming you can remember them all.

See the little blue icon by my name in the comment? Hover over cilck on that and an interactive “business card” is displayed.

Cool, or annoying?

Cool. It’s a “business card” that I won’t have to feel guilty about throwing away. :)

Time to use Jay’s blog to test something. I’ve had a retaggr account for a while, but will the icon show up next to my name? only a comment will prove it! ;)

I’ve got mixed feelings about this. It’s a neat feature, but the mouseover is kind-of annoying as well. It reminds me of Snap Preview Anywhere. Heck, maybe I should just try it.

I use the link in my email signatures, on facebook, Twitter, in comments on blogs and more – it’s really cool. I’ve even seen some click throughs from my retagger business card in my analytics program…..pretty cool…..It works for me..

You enabled retaggr and then turned off avatars? Are the 2 not compatible?

Steve – I’ve never had avatars on this blog (well, not in the last 18 months or so). I’ve got them on “the other blog”.

Hi All,

Ivailo from retaggr here. I have been following the comments on this blog and wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for trying retaggr and glad that you like it.

Also wanted tell you that we are very interested in working with people from the Real Estate industry, so if you have any thought and suggestions on what you would like to see on your cards to make them even more useful please do not hesitate to contact me at ivailo [at] retaggr dot com.

@Rudy, I have some ideas as to how we could work with Trulia voices, can we have a chat?

Ivailo, not to steal Jay’s thread here, but for RE.NET, a fair housing logo and a REALTOR(R) logo would be cool…as off the top of my head things that should be on a legitimate real estate agent’s biz card.

Steve, the logo is a great idea. Thank you.

Ivailo – thanks for stopping by! I agree with Steve – agents need to be able to add at least a Fair Housing logo. A Realtor logo would be helpful too.

I’m curious, is there a way to make it so the little “I” icon by a retagger users name has to be clicked on to display their retaggr profile? Having it pop up on mouseover can get annoying as Andrew mentioned above. I’d like it much better if it required a click.

Jay – we are working on the logos and will also change the mouseover to a click in the next release – will be live in the next few days and I will let you know as soon as it’s live.

Hi All – just to let you know we are back up. We will be keeping an eye on things, but have no reason to expect a repetition of the problem. Thank you for your patience and for your support!

Jay – Just wanted to let you know that we have changed the card display to a click instead of a mouseover for your blog.

We have made it a configurable setting in your account -> Website tools -> click on your site name -> advanced options.

Hope this helps.
