Chris – the credit expires tomorrow (unless you're in the military & stationed overseas), and there is no pending legislation to extend it.

So no, there appears to be no chance of an extension.

Any chance of another extension? I just cleared up some credit issues and would love the opportunity to purchase a home. The tax credit is a major incentive for me to purchase immediately if not guess I guess I'll just wait.

I guess as everyone knows now. That date got extended through April 30, 2010. So we are currently in the same boat as when this article was originally written. Some builders are still swearing they can get you closed within 2 weeks if you buy one of their inventory homes. I am a realtor in The Woodlands, TX and I have seen a huge surge in sales this month. I don't know if you can give all the credit to the tax deadline, I'm sure a lot of it is just seasonal. We were very slow over the winter so I think everyone might have just been waiting till this Spring to make a move.
