FoREM Joins Inman? Or Redfin buys FoREM?

Joel Burslem runs one of my favorite real estate blogs, Future of Real Estate Marketing (FoREM).

Today I noticed this in my daily email notice from Inman News:

I clicked on the link thinking there might be some announcement I missed. But I just wound up on the home page of FoREM.

Yesterday Kevin Boer briefly alluded to a Joel / Inman connection, but Kevin’s post and this little text box is all I’ve seen.

So what’s the skinny here? What exactly does “joined forces” mean?

I’m thinking I must have missed something…

While on FoREM, I did notice that it appears Redfin, not Inman has bought up all the advertising real estate. :)
(Just hassling you Joel, monetize that thing to the hilt… Redfin doesn’t bother me in the least.)

Hey Jay

FOREM has joined Inman News as the one of the first members of Inman’s new blog network – where content from my blog is now featured for Inman News readers. More to come on that.

Unfortunately, the ads on the site are contextual ads from Google. That’s why on the article about Redfin you got Redfin ads. I’ve been unhappy with those ads from day one and I’m really hoping to get rid of them once I’ve found another solution.

Thanks for stopping by and clarifying Joel. I missed the Inman article when it came out and now it’s behind the subscriber wall. Sounds interesting. And congrats. No question the FoREM content would be useful to Inman readers.

And there’s the problem with contextual ads…

I wonder if I added contextual ads and then ranted about something, oh say the NAR for example, if I’d get NAR/Realtor.com ads displayed? :)

The rumor I heard was that Redfin used part of its recent VC windfall to buy FoREM, Inman, and Russell Shaw.

I thought Move was buying them. What happened?
