skin_cancer_v3 Arizona has the highest skin cancer incident rate in the country and the second highest rate in the world.

Skin cancer can be deadly but nearly all skin cancer can be treated if it is detected and diagnosed early (source).

Here’s your chance.

On Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. there will be FREE skin cancer screenings sponsored by the M.D. Anderson Banner Cancer Center.

Banner Gateway Medical Center, 1900 N. Higley Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234 (map)
U.S. 60 and Higley Road – Banner Gateway Women’s Imaging Center
Canyon Springs Medical Plaza on the hospital campus
Must be 18 years of age -  to register online click here or call 602-230-CARE (2273)

I’ll be there at 10:30. Slots are filling up fast.

Cancer sucks. Don’t be a statistic.

Sorry, looks like all the available screening slots are filled. I’ll ask when I’m there if they plan more.

  • Catch cancer in the first stage and it is curable/operable. Don't wait until its a painful problem! Any suspicious spot that has either grown, changed size, changed colors (especially having multiple colored patches), or changes texture you need to have it checked out.

  • Jay - a great cause. Florida's pretty high up on the skin cancer rate scale as well. Many of my friends have either been impacted by skin cancer themselves or have family members who have experienced it. Thanks for keeping this issue out in front of us.

I need to get checked actually. I'm not from AZ but I've been here long enough that I should keep an eye on it.
