Realty Executives has a rich history of hiring some of the best real estate agents in the industry, and Gerry Russell is certainly a shining example that. Gerry has been with Realty Executives for the last 27 years and has been a broker here at Realty Executives since (I think) 2003… In 2012, Gerry was moved to the Designated Broker’s role where he has tirelessly served us by answering hundreds of thousands of questions and reviewing literally billions of dollars in transaction volume each year. The guy is a tireless workhorse who always seems to have a smile on his face. Sure, he’s a bit quirky at times, but we love him to death and he’s a super-smart guy who always has our backs. Gerry is definitely someone who is both liked and respected by people in our business.
This past Monday, it was announced that Gerry Russell will be moving to a new position in the corporate offices at Realty Executives Phoenix, where he’ll be a “consulting broker” who will do more strategic planning and brainstorming, as well as, working with many of us to find ways to continue to improve the company. These are things that Gerry excels at and that he will, in my opinion, be really, really good at.
Randy Cooney will be stepping in as the new designated broker at Realty Executives Phoenix. He’ll be working with Ron Roberts and Sandra Hershey in the brokers office. Randy is another guy who is well known and well respected in the Phoenix real estate scene. Randy joined Realty Executives at the beginning of the year and has been working very closely with Gerry, the corporate team, our brokers office and the Executives to ensure that the torch is being passed in a seamless manner. Just about anyone in the real estate business here in the Valley would know Randy from the awesome work he has done at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. He’s also a wealth of knowledge for all of us to lean on. Randy will now handle the day to day operations and be the main point of contact for, well, just about everything imaginable.
I’m thrilled for Gerry to be taking his new role at Realty Executives, as it allows him some much deserved freedom to spend more time with his wife and family. We’ll still see him, work with him and learn from his experiences, just in a different capacity. So, a BIG congrats to Gerry and to Realty Executives of Phoenix for making this move. It looks to be a win-win for everyone.
