AZ Beer FestivalNow this sounds interesting….

This weekend (March 7 and 8, 2009), the 21st Annual Great Arizona Beer Festival takes place at Tempe Beach Park.

Live music, food and of course beer – some 200 varieties – are on tap, so to speak.

Regular tickets are $40 in advance (hurry!) and $50 at the gate, but that includes entrance, live music, a souvenir mug and most importantly 24 tasting tickets. VIP tickets are also available that provide, well, VIP privileges.

In an act of supreme coolness, all proceeds go directly to Sun Sounds of Arizona, who provide reading / audio services for people who are blind or whose disability prevents them from reading printed material.

So if you are looking for something to do in the Phoenix area this weekend, it’s hard to beat a beer festival for a great cause.

More info here, or follow GreatAZBeerFest on Twitter.

Beer, Food, & Music! It doesn’t get much better than that. Festivals are great networking opportunities.

Would love to go, but just took 3 of my college buddies, their wives and 7 kids to the airport. After baseball games, hanging at the pool in the sun, Cave Creek and the McDowell Mtn Ranch Park and Aquatic Center this old man is whipped. Ha. Would love to check it out though.

Do you happen to know how much the Sun Sounds of Arizona was able to raise from the beerfest? I hope they did well; what a wonderful cause to support!

I know you missed it, but do you happen to know how the fundraiser went? I am sure it did have a good turnout and I hope the Sun Sounds Of Arizona were able to raise a lot of funds!

yeah sounds great. Have you seen the german Oktoberfest?

Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Germany during late September and running to early October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year, and is an enjoyable event with an important part of Bavarian culture.

It is a well known fact that beer is the only cure for recessions. We must all keep drinking to avoid a double dip. Lets get to it guys!
