stressed Are you a Phoenix homeowner facing foreclosure or a short sale? Maybe you are looking at an increase in your adjustable rate mortgage?

The Arizona State Escrow Association in conjunction with the Better Business Bureau, Arizona Department of Financial Institutions and the Arizona Mortgage Lenders’ Association is hosting a community assistance event that may have some of the help you need.

You can meet with a counselor from Take Charge America (a non-profit credit counseling organization), participate in mini-sessions on things like adjustable rate loans, foreclosure/homeowner eviction, short sales, scams, tax implications and second mortgages/credit impact.

This event is free, no RSVP is required.

Lots of folks are in trouble out there. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. There ARE things that can help. Go, talk to some people. It is OK to ask for help!

Well, out here in Los Angeles it's really bad also of course. I like this effort of attempting to help people though. Homeowners actually have alot of help out there, but they're too scared to find out. The news doesn't always portray the possibilities for them, they sometimes feel helpless. In contrast, a lot of the banks are willing to deal now and help out. The banks have learned over this long time period that it's more favorable to work it out. For homeowners, I would really encourage them to hang in there and make it happen if possible. Hopefully in a few years when all of this may turn they will still have their house and be proud of keeping it through thick and thin.

Half are under water in Jacksonville Florida as well. I'm glad to see you guys are doing this as many home owners don't know they have options available.
.-= Jacksonville Short Sale´s last blog ..Bank of America Short Sale =-.

We were tossing around this idea of having something similar for people needing to short sell here in Atlanta, GA. We have so many homes that just go to foreclosure without even being listed for sale. We mail them, but there's only so much you can do short of knocking on their door, which we've done to (wouldn't recommend)... - Shane
.-= GA Short Sale Agent´s last blog ..Get Paid to do a Short Sale? Really? How You Can Get $1,500 for Moving. =-.

Half the homes in Phoenix are "under water" or worth less than the amount owing. There is definitely nothing to be ashamed of. It is happening to everyone.

That looks like a great event, a little out of my area but it would be great if I had clients out your way.

I wanted to drive out to Spring Training this year but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
