I understand it is the institution of commission that creates that desire, being commissioned to sell something is inherently an odd transaction, and yet the salaries of other professionals are--it seems to me at least, though perhaps I haven't fully though this through--left alone. I also like your point about earning 1 mil in commisions does not mean you earned 1 million dollars. The industry really needs to get away from gross commissions in and switch to Net Income because that the real winner.
