Love this video. Some of the simplest, yet all-so-often-ignored advice you’ll find for being successful in business. And I don’t care whether you sell real estate, paper clips or dig ditches.

Watch it. It’s only 77 seconds long. Watch it, then do something with it.

Hat tip to TheGrok in Why I Won’t Buy From You!

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

If you care about the client first, they will return. If not, they won't return and your business will go down the toilet.

Customers should be number one priority in any business. I see so many businesses that only want to make money and care nothing about the customer. I have also seen businesses that care about their customers and treat them well. The ones that treat their customers well do very well, while the ones that don't, it eventually becomes their downfall.

Nice find Jay. The place I'm working at currently gets it. They get a lot of word of mouth customers.

Nice video and very true. Treat the customer correctly and the customer will multiply.

Great short video. It's absolutely true that customers today are more sophisticated and demand better service. As a small business owner I constantly battle with my employees to provide world class customer service, because if they don't treat the customer well my competitor is going to get them instead.

It's an old adage. The customer is always right. That includes the real estate client!

Great video, Customer service is so important that it's funny how so many business owners forget about this when dealing with their customers, yet when they're the customer they expect it everything that was said in that video. A little hypocritical I'd say.

Customer service should be the number one priority of any successful business. You will be amazed how much good word of mouth recommendations from happy customers will do for your business. I would be willing to bet it will help your business more than any marketing campaign.

Solid post, and great video. Have you had a chance to check out "Delivering Happiness" from the Zappos CEO yet? Similar wisdom, and definitely words to live by.

Great Video, Jay. It's easy to forget what we're really all about sometimes, and this really puts it all back into focus. Make The Customer Happy!

Thanks for the great video. We often see our clients as "mere" invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. But it is also our job to make every important aspect of our client's experience a little bit better...

Great post. Oftentimes, Realtors (myself included) see clients as 'leads' and how that can affect conversion rates, forgetting that the ultimate goal of the transaction is to have a satisfied client, who in turn will refer future business.

Jay - thanks for posting this video. a HUGE part of what I do is listening to you guys - what works, what doesn't and taking that back to product, service, etc.

We all know that when customers aint happy, aint no one happy ;)

I couldn't have said this any better. We as Realtors must always be aware that we are being scrutinized in everything we do, 24/7 in this day and age, just like any other business.

Nice video. Must remember that when dealing with awkward customers!

That video perfectly sums it all up! The little things do matter when it comes to dealing with our customers.

Good reminder that customers are much more sophisticated than we give them credit for. There is a ton of information readily available online, so as Realtors we need to give them a reason to choose us and stay with us. Fantastic service is the only way to achieve success.

This is a good reminder that the customer is not just another number. Sometimes I like to pretend that my customers are me and that I am trying to please myself whenever I make a business move.
