I normally shop at Home Depot, since HD is based in Atlanta I just give them the benefit of the doubt about being the best. But, I may just give Lowes a shot because of your post here.

Lowes is great. We didn't have one in our area until about 2 years ago and once they opened they gained a customer for life also. They explain things and actually know about the products they are selling, amazing concept! One benefit from NAR that I actually have used in the past, discounted Lowes gift cards for clients.

Lowes is beating HD up at not only customer service but the entire shopping experience. They started by appealing to women like Francy who then got their husbands, you, to visit and ultimately prefer to shop there.

Personally, I have never had a problem with Home Depot. As for personal preference though, I tend to like Lowe's. To me, they have a better selection, are a little cheaper and the folks who work there seem more willing to help me out.

I have gone into my local Home Depot a few times over the last few years (when Lowes did not have what I needed) and wondered if the store was about to close. The people don’t care and the shelves are a mess. Lowes is always neat and it easy to find what I need.
I agree. Lowes Rocks!

Home Depot (long ago had such customer service) but there management made decisions to spend money enriching themselves instead of providing good customer service. The result is tons of dissatisfied Home Depot customers.
