I just “stumbled upon” this wicked cool real estate related website…
Who out there hasn’t thought about how great it would be to own your own tropical island? At PrivateIslandsOnline.com, you can search for available islands to your hearts content. (They have island rentals too).
There are multiple ways to search — price, geographically, you name it. Tropical islands, river and lake islands. Islands on the Maine coastline, islands in Canada, Africa, Australia the list is virtually endless. Sizes range from tiny coral atoll’s in the South Pacific to a 35,000 acre monster off Baja, Mexico and everything in between. Prices run from $28K (Canadian) for a 0.8 acre island in Nova Scotia to $70M (US) for a 2,000 acre beauty in the Caribbean. You can buy an island with nothing but sand to a turn-key resort complete with air strip.
If buying an island isn’t your thing, check out the rentals. There’s a lodge on an island in the Phillippines you can rent for 84 bucks a week. Or just go all out and rent Richard Branson’s private island for a mere $294,000 a week. (A steal at only 42 grand a day – and it’s not even the most expensive rental listed!)
In addition to “island listings” there is a pretty active forum and articles about owning and living on islands.
This is a fun site to search. Dream big…
