Small kids are curious, inpulsive, lack judgement and have no idea of consequenses. Our sole purpose is to protect, educate and prepare our kids to go out on their own one day. That starts the day they are born and doesn't end until they are out of the house. It amazes me how parents don't watch their kids around water and a lot of other dangerous things. This year has already, as you mentioned, started out bad. We were just talking about it being pool time yesterday! Pools are fun but it's extremely important to watch kids around the pool - As they say, it only takes a few seconds (or minute??).
