Just One Reason I Love my Readers!

by Jay - The Phoenix Real Estate Guy on May 15, 2008

I blog for business, I blog to learn, and I blog to share. I also blog as an “outlet” — for writing, and occasionally for venting.

Of course my favorite thing in blogging is to get a client. Selfish maybe, but I help people buy and sell real estate for a living. Without clients, we don’t eat, and the teenagers don’t get all the stuff teenagers think they need to survive.

But there is another wicked cool aspect of blogging that comes up more often than people probably realize.

There’s a guy, we’ll call him “Frank”. Frank likes to utilize our shiny new Phoenix MLS search system. And he uses it a lot. Being new, the system has a few kinks and quirks. Frank has been incredibly gracious and has been providing feedback to both myself, and one of the software developers at our IDX (home search) provider, Diverse Solutions.

He takes his own time to let us know how things are working (or not). There’s not much in this for Frank. Oh sure, he’ll ultimately get a better “search experience”, but his feedback does me, other users, and Diverse Solutions far more good than it does him. Kinda helps restore ones faith in humanity knowing there are folks out there willing to help out when there really isn’t a direct benefit to them.

How cool is that?

Awesome thoughts here. I agree with you. There is a wonderful element of human expression that comes from these mediums. One terrific thing about blogs and other methods of interacting online, is that I get to witness, even as a third party, these wonderful interactions. Each time I get an example of how well people selflessly serve each other.

Thanks for the post.

There’s an old maxim in sales - those that complain are the best customers. Those that don’t complain simply just dissapear, never to be seen again.

After all, if they don’t complain we don’t know how to fix it or for that matter we don’t know that it is broken to begin with.

The internet and its anonimity creates a whole new bread of complainers that can only ultimately make us better at what we do.

Jay,

Thanks for the mention in your blog. I am glad that I can help, it is the least that I can do. Thank you and Diverse Solution for providing a good tool, it is excellent. The best part it is free with no obligation. Would the tool bring more business in your direction, YES, it would, but I think the attitude of “No hassles, we promise!” is a good business model, I like it and I am very sure many well.

The benefit for me is a better search experience , as you said it, for an example, many of the real estate web sites have stale data, this solution does not. seems other sites take much more longer time to update their data. The other features in the tool are just great.

Anyway, thanks again..

Im amazed. Its rare you can find this kind of ‘give and take’ situation in a blog that sells. I guess that’s what gives this site an edge as compared to your competitions. Keep it up guys!

Frank, it’s very refreshing getting such good feedback as yours. With feedback from the end users it helps not only us out tremendously but everyone that will use the map based property search in the future. We’re ramping up now for our next round of new features and improvements so the timing couldn’t be better.

Thanks Frank

Jay, thanks for reminding us that there is a lot more to humanity than what one comes across during the daily grind. Frank, thanks for being around as an inspiration for others.
