Leave it to Dustin, The Bet, and oh yeah — Gilbert Real Estate

Somehow I’ve missed this from the Blogfather of real estate weblogging. I think it’s brilliant. Dustin, brilliant, there’s a shocker.

UT vs ASU in the Holiday Bowl. The bet is on. When UT wins, Jonathan has to write “I LOVE UT” (or I ?  UT) on his forehead, in Sharpie, and post a pic on his blog.  Should ASU happen to get lucky, Lani and I will do the same with “I ? ASU”.

The Gilbert Town Council will consider tonight whether to acquire 40 acres of land near Germann and Lindsay roads.  Despite falling prices, Gilbert real estate and raw land isn’t cheap — the Town expects to pay around $14M for the parcel ($350K/acre).  The purpose is to build a public safety training complex.

According to the Arizona Republic, there’s an interesting “buy now ask the taxpayers to pay later” thing going on here:

However, Gilbert officials hope to have those costs reimbursed through a future bond issue, a strategy that also must receive council members’ approval.

Huh. Wonder what would happen if voters reject that bond proposal after the land is purchased?

huh. All in all, Gilbert’s planning committee has done a great job building up Gilbert- but that’s a big gamble with our funds- banking on the bond going through. Great post!

Hey Coop, long time no “see”.

I lived in Austin for 20 years, went to High School in San Antonio, and attended UT. It’s often difficult for an Army brat who moved every couple of years to identify where they are from. I may currently live in Phoenix, but Austin is “home” to me. As such, I just can’t root against the Horns.

My wife on the other hand, was born and raised in Phoenix. She lived in Austin (and loved it) for 9 years, but she can’t root against ASU.

Somehow, she has corrupted my son, who was BORN in Austin — he’ll be rooting for the Devils too (he’s currently planning to attend ASU in a couple of years).

My daughter, also born in Austin, will be pulling for the correct team.

It should be an interesting day in the Thompson household!

I am still in shock over UT losing to A&M. I keep hoping it was a bad dream I am going to wake up from.

AZForeclosures – I agree, Gilbert has done a good job with growth (traffic infrastructure could use a lot of help, but that comes with explosive growth).

I suspect the bond issue will easily pass, they usually do. And apparently the money is already socked away somewhere, just in case.

Another Gilbert dairy farm bites the dust in the name of progress (and a tidy profit for the owner, I’m sure).

There is a legacy of theft in this family. Mom used to steal supplies and had for DECADES!!! Despite the existing legacy from prior generations, to maximize damage they likely told her to and why::::::To establish this legacy so they can justify pushing me into stealing, ensuring indifference from society's elite who will be positioned to be involved in this Situation.
They offered him the temptation of maximizing the prices he commands by pushing people into buying at above market value. And I suspect his selling history will attest to this. Not to mention the two $20 Starbucks gift cards ($30 left) he stole out of my car.
Don't forget::There are no secrets with this technology!!!
Think this will shut the tough guy up? Because I can go on about his schitzophrenia and how it makes him more likely to be a recidivist pediophile. But this isn't necessary because he'd obey when they'd tell him to.
His parents were both good but became corrupted. As a result, he is good as well. Unfortunately, he subscribed to evil and has been for years. The result is this internal battle of good and evil that he experieces as schitzophrenia.
And, like so many of you, he will do EVERYTHING he is told. The difference is they will ask him.
Just like mom::::She lit her own house on fire intentionally.

Thank you, all of you, for stealing my jewelry. I wash my hands of you all. And it was very interesting how you corrupted your children to play a part, sitting them down to divy up the costume jewelry. Or how they scurried upstairs, as if by cue, when that lush was screaming in my face.
And they intend to do the same with the house.
Enjoy your “alcoholic haze”. Comes through LOUD AND CLEAR. Your employer thanked me for giving you this warning, so be prepared.
I wish I threw it in her face when she was screaming at me. I wonder if it would have shut her up?
