My Front Steps Looks Close to Launch…

MFSLogoFrom the often frozen tundra of Saskatoon, it appears that the fellows at Vendasta are close to unleashing their creation.

It’s been under wraps for awhile now, and we still don’t quite know what they are up to.

We do know they are looking for a “Social Application Developer” saying, “We will be starting with the development of a Facebook application and will then proceed onto Open Social.”

From John Fothergill, Vendasta EVP of Product Management, on the fabulously named Motherfathergill’s blog comes this tidbit:

None-the-less I decided to attend (the Google I/O conference) because so many sessions were focused on OpenSocial and social networking containers and this was the exact type of research we needed for our web 2.0 start-up MyFrontSteps.

Brendan King also recently attended a Graphing Social Patterns East conference in D.C.

Obviously they are working on a social networking play. It’s a crowded space, but I suppose there is always room for more. All depends on what new twist they can bring. In a Common Craft-ish style video they give a few more hints….

Sounds like it may be able to pull various social networks into one spot. THAT could prove quite useful. It will be interesting to see what comes out. Soon, I suspect….

These guys are all pretty innovative thinkers. Hang on…

I'm a real estate broker in Phoenix, Arizona and the publisher of the Phoenix Real Estate Guy blog. I tend to drive too fast and scream at the University of Texas and Denver Broncos football teams. My two kids are smarter than most adults I know and my wife is simply amazing.

The Phoenix Real Estate Guy runs on AgentPress

AgentPress is a specialized WordPress theme for real estate agents and brokers, powered by the industry standard Genesis Framework. With AgentPress on your team, you're empowered to get the most out of WordPress for online marketing.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

That would be ping.fm that allows you to post out to several networks at once

but it's a closed beta..they just gave me a password "mightyping", but I don't know how long it'll be good

You could also use jott.com which lets you call a number, and it transcribes your voice to text..pretty neat! My freind got jott hookedup to ping.fm and now can twit by voice!

I've seen something similar, but can't remember the site name to save my life. Although it was going in the opposite direction, now that I think about it. It would update all of your other social sites with a touch of a button, not corral them all together.

retaggr.com

is already a step in that direction that myfront steps seems to be headed in:

It links up all your social networks, microblogs, video posts and links it into a web 2.0 business card

I think it MIGHT be interesting, we'll have to wait and see

(I love common crafts animations though! Did anyone else see the one on how to prepare for a zombie invasion?)

Yeah it seems like they're trying to save users time by combining or bringing everything together. It would be sweet to see something like a tab setup e.g.

Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, You Tube etc..

all on one page

Sound like a useful tool. I would use it.
