Now Up: Real Estate Blog Pro. A new blogventure!

Real-estate-blog-pro-screen-shot Look Ma, another new blog!

Introducing RealEstateBlogPro.com – the latest blogventure of yours truly.

Why? Or more accurately to quote my wife, “Why the heck do you need another blog?”

How about, “Why not?”

Actually, believe it or not I honestly put some thought into starting this thing. Thought! Can you believe it?

Here’s my justification. It works in my mind, and maybe a little in Francy’s mind too…

  • I enjoy writing about the in’s and out’s of real estate blogging.
  • Many readers of Phoenix Real Estate Guy could care less about the in’s and out’s of real estate blogging.
  • I like to experiment with themes, plug-ins and different ideas and concepts. Experimenting on a live blog that generates revenue is a risky proposition. Trust me, I’ve blown up TPREG on numerous occasions and had to stay up into the wee hours of the morning fixing it. Far better to blow up a less well-read blog.
  • I like to share what I’ve learned about real estate blogging and having a central repository for that information seems to make sense.
  • I would like to expand the consulting services I provide, so a centralized and focused site seems like a reasonable idea.

Who knows where this thing will go. For now, I’m enjoying working with the new WordPress 3.0 default theme, Twenty-Ten. And I was finally able to install BuddyPress, a built-in “Social Network” – of which I am wholly unimpressed with so far and will probably be removing it soon. SimplePress – a forum plugin for WordPress is also installed, though very sparsely populated at the moment.

There’s also a companion Facebook page, and a Twitter account as well. Feel free to “like”, “follow” and all that jazz if you are so inclined.

Check it out if you get a chance and let me know what you think. If there’s a topic you’d like to see covered, just shout and I’ll add it to the list.

Just don’t hold it against me if the thing up and dies some day. You just never know…

Like, Tweet, share...

It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

I'm a big Phoenix fan. Lived there for years and wish I could go back. Keep up the great work!

Fantastic blog high visibility and insightful information. You seem to have an authentic grasp on the local Phoenix real estate market. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for having this site available on the web! Having lived in Phoenix many years ago and knowing what a great place it is to live I was pleased to come across your info. My wife and I currently and permanently now live in Eastlake, ohio and have had some interesting real estate experiences. During the housing boom of a few years ago we were fortunate enough to sell 3 homes at maximum profit thanks to our fine realtor, 1 house selling in 2 weeks and the other 2 within 2 months. We also bought our current home with the same realtor's help and have made a very fine investment as it's value has surpassed it's purchase price. Unfortunately, the market dropped right after our dealings and those who bought our homes have not fared so well. Thanks to helpful sites like yours many people will do better and once again, we thank you from Ohio!

Wow, you are really into blogging and wordpress plugins. I have to agree with you that there is potential for this to lead to new avenues in your life. You do a great job blogging. Good luck with the new one too.

Go for it. But, you should know, if you build it, we will come. And we will comment, pontificate and educate. :-)

But seriously, I understand the NEED. I had three blogs going (my own real estate blog, my blog on appraisal stuff with my husband, and one on granite for my best friend), and have just started two more (one on dutch oven cooking, and one for a friend with a huge, blended family). Just discovered the Thesis theme (yes, late to the game), and am noticing how all of you great bloggers seem to be running it, too. More time to blog, less time spent making css changes.

Please, tinker away, but ya gotta keep posting the good stuff here, too!!!

Great idea Jay! This adds a whole new dimension to your site for those of us 'in the business'. Blogging is a tricky thing to do right. There's a lot that doesn't work, and it's a constantly changing enterprise. I look forward to keeping up with this.

I must say WOW Jay! I was just looking through your blog archives when I realized you've been blogging on this site since May 8, 2005. That's over 5 years! I want to congratulate you on the great job you have done. I find myself returning to your site daily to look for your latest blogging tips and tricks as well as keeping up on the real estate market. Keep up the great work and the best of luck on your new blogventure! :)

I am really grateful to have the information about real estates from this blog.I liked the blog as it has been written, the information  i got from here.

LOL, you're on it like white on rice, Jay. Nice looking blog, I'll definitely be subscribing.

You've got a really popular blog. That is awesome. You must spend an awful amount of time writing.

I admire your dedication.

Jay,

Congrats!! Doesn't surprise me at all and I'm glad you did another blog. You have always been, and will always be "The Man!"

I've noticed all the commons that you got and when I read your blog, I agree, It's worth the time I spent. Keep on Writing. I'l be updating your blog. Love to read it. Thanks.

Good Luck with the new venture Jay. Love the concept and am sure it will work out for you. Why wouldn't it? You're obviously a leader in your field. This seems like a natural next step.

Just one thing, I find the eye on that WordPress theme seriously creepy...

I love the new blog. When I first got started blogging in 2007, there were a lot of bloggers focusing on the basics of blogging. Now the basics seem harder to find.

I'm teaching weekly classes now at my office with about half of the classes on social media and half on blogging. I will definitely be making your blog assigned reading for anyone who wants to join us in the blogging world.

Jay,

Another one = great? It is now confirmed that you are without doubt the true 'Phoenix' who rises from the fires of blogging regardless of circumstance or interest.

I've always loved reading your posts. Go for it as it sounds like a great idea. You've been so generous in sharing your knowledge and expertise to the rest of the community. Thanks for all you do to make our industry better...

Jay,

go for it...sounds like a great idea. I am currently juggling two careers and get soooooo frustrated being able to spend only minimal time on blogging and website stuff, so look forward to seeing what you create, what tools you find that work , and which don't. Maybe they will help me....

Jay good luck with your new blog. I don't know where you find the time to do everything you do! I checked it out and it looks like it will be very useful to "young grasshoppers" like me. :)

Jay,

You know I love the new blog ( pretty sure I told you that ) and I liked this entire post until the last sentence.

Don't you DARE kill this blog. :)

Thanks again for all you do...

Nice blog. The issues I continue to find with my company covering a relatively niche/small luxury market in La Zagaleta, is finding good solid content that will keep readers coming back. Its so easy to go off subject and give info that can be less than useful to your reader. Any ideas?

Very good idea Jay. I appreciate and give you warm welcome to start blogging. It is vital to upgrade things. Change is only thing which never changes. Be innovative. I am pretty much interested for your next blog.
