Ok, I’ll Confess – I Watch American Idol

ManCard2

I’ll probably lose my Man Card for admitting it, but I watch virtually every second of American Idol.

Sure, it’s mindless television. But much of TV is for pure entertainment purposes, and American Idol is entertaining.

April Groves watches too. But she’s a girl. (And she does some great summaries after each show. Like this, and this.)

You know what else I watch? Big Brother. And Survivor. I’m a reality TV junkie (though I have avoided Dancing With the Stars. And no Bachelor since the Trista & Ryan days. Dalton watches The Bachelor. And he claims his wife “makes him watch” DWTS. Yeah, whatever JD…).

“Evictions” abound on reality TV tonight. I think Ramiele gets tossed off AI tonight and Joshuah pulls off a stunner on BB sending Sharon packing.

And I swear I’ll never post about this again.

Unless David Cook loses AI. And I just saw he was hospitalized after last nights show!

.

UPDATE: Cook was apparently treated, and released, for high-blood pressure and heart palpitations. He is reportedly “doing just fine”.

(I watch AI, too. Shhh!)

Had no idea about David Cook. Hated him in the beginning (it was the hair, couldn’t get past it) but he’s become a favorite. Hope he’s OK!

Jay, if you watch Poker After Dark or High Stakes Poker, I can talk to the man card comittee and put in a good word for you. Your broken arm won’t hurt, either.

Jay, thankfully my wife now travels on business during the week and I’m no longer subjected to idol.

And along the lines of Steve’s comment, so one day, you’re a macho hero and the next, just a girly girl.

Steve makes a great point. Surely defending the honor of a lady at risk of life and limb garners enough man points to off-set watching Idol?

Don’t cross Central Avenue, Jay … that’s all I’m saying. Don’t cross Central.

I think you get the keep the Man Card. You admitted your problem. ;)

I’ve watched my share of reality TV as well. It can be a fun and silly escape. We all need those.

One of my favs is the Biggest Loser- it motivates me to exercise- I did go to the gym 1 day last week- looking to improve my gym stats. But it is amazing the transformation the people go through.

I watch AI every week too- and I agree with the vote results tonite- Ramiele was sent home.

I am just glad to see that that Kristy Lee Cook made the top 10- so she can buy her barrel racing horse back that she sold to pay for the plane ticket to the auditions.

Sorry no comment on the Man Card-just the fact that there is one is just wrong- just kidding :)

When I can, which is only about every other Tuesday, I watch it as well. I love music. And some of these kids can really sing.

I’m just proud that I’m secure enough in my manhood to respond. :)

Do share your secret with us. How on earth do you find the time between all that you do, to blog and watch these long television programs as well?

American Idol can be highly addicting! : ] It’s easy to get caught up in!

I liked the “Man-Card” you posted! I’ve never seen that before but it gave me a good laugh!
