Phoenix Midcentury Modern Homes

There are several areas in the Phoenix Valley with “Midcentury Modern” homes. I love these homes — they are chocked full of style and character. I can’t see one without imagining Frank, Dean and Sammy lounging pool side in Palm Springs.

ModernPhoenix.net is a *great* website dedicated to modern Phoenix homes. It’s jammed FULL of fabulous info on these 60′s era classics. Photos, how-to’s, an active message board and more. Anything and everything you could ever want to know about mid-century modern architecture is here. I could go on and on about this site, but why listen to me. Go there! Highly recommended!

Both sellers and buyers are usually incredibly passionate about these homes and the lifestyle and era they represent. Some people love these homes, some not-so-much. They aren’t for everyone, but then, what style is? However, if you grow weary of wall-to-wall earth tone stucco, give this style of home some serious consideration. You may just be pleasantly surprised at what “modernism” has to offer.

Here’s an article in today’s Arizona Republic that prompted me to finally get off my duff and link to ModernPhoenix.net. I visit there often. I’ve been avoiding the forum because the last thing I need is yet another forum to suck up time. But I finally caved and registered today. Maybe I’ll see you there!

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

Cool house. It resembles an Alexander home or some of the midcentury modern Alliance-built houses we have in Northern California.

That house looks like it could be here in Las Vegas in the Las Vegas Country Club community. I wonder if someone will start a similar site for Las Vegas.
