Phoenix Point2 Users Meeting - Well Worth the Time!

Yesterday the first Phoenix Arizona Point2 Users meeting was held. For those not aware (and some won’t care), Point2 Technologies is a provider of a bevy of services for real estate agents. A web solution, blogging platform and the “NLS” - National Listing Service.

Brendan King, Point2 Chief Operating Officer, was the guest speaker and presented a great overview of what Point2 has to offer — and to come.

Lots of questions came forth from the 40+ in attendance that ranged from site specific questions to the future of Point2. Too much really to cover here, and I did a lousy (read non-existent) job of taking notes.

Some of the cool stuff headed Point2 users way include Predictive Marketing. P2 has the ability to collect stats on just about anything a site visitor does. They are developing models that can predict, based on a site visitors actions, what that visitor is interested in, their spot in the buying timeline, and more. They can then serve up listings a visitor might find of interest.

Huh?

Say John Q. Public comes to your web site and starts looking at listings. P2 can tell they tend to look at photos of kitchens, or backyards (or both). They can then display other listings with cool kitchens, or backyards (or both). Sort of like, “Hey JQP, you might find these interesting too”. They can also collect stats on things like site visit frequency, time of day and what is viewed to estimate where in the buying process a site visitor may be. Predictive marketing frees up the agent to do what agents do — sell real estate. Rather than hovering over a keyboard getting a headache from trying to figure out which prospect to focus on, the P2 system will tell you.

That’s cool stuff. Powerful too.

Brendan talked a bit about P2’s Facebook application Neighbors — now with 700,000 users! Point2 listings are automatically feed into Neighbors, providing a way for agents to get their listings to the 50 million+ Facebook users. You can also add neighborhood info to Neighbors pages.

That’s powerful stuff. Cool too.
Brendan also said that Point2 listings will be syndicated to Zillow.com on November 14.

You’re on the record with a date Brendan….

There was more. Much more. I enjoyed meeting face-to-face several people that I’d “met” on line. I hope to see more meetings like this where Point2 users can share tips and techniques for improving their sites, and their business.

If you signed up to attend and didn’t make it… not a real good idea. But I think there will be more. Maybe not with Brendan as it’s quite a commute from Saskatoon. But there are plenty of Point2 “power users” in the area who could do some “hands on” demos and we could trade ideas. Comment if you’re interested and we’ll see what we can work out.

Thanks to Steven Groves for getting it going, to Jobbing.com for the room, to Bobby Q for the great food (and to Point2 NLS for buying it!)

It was nice to meet you finally Jay! I look forward to seeing you again more often in the future.

Same for Brendan, considering how many times I’ve emailed back and forth, and the time we spoke on the phone.

I have to say it was nice just to be there at the meeting too. I only wish I didn’t get called away during the last 30 minutes of the meeting. What did I miss?

Note to Jobing.com: make the gates in the parking garage open when you drive up to them upon exiting. I had to drive my H2 over 4 parking stops to get out… :-)
