in Life

Karen-georgeDamn it. I am so freaking sick and tired of cancer stealing lives.

I just found out that Karen George passed away over the weekend. I wrote about her almost a year ago as she entered YET ANOTHER battle against breast cancer.

Karen was a local lender, and a wonderful person. She had an amazing spirit and attitude in the face of a horrific and insidious disease.

You fought the gallant fight Karen. The world was a better place with you in it, and your kind and caring legacy lives on. Our thoughts are with Michael and all that Karen touched in her far too short life.

Jay,

My wife is approaching 5 years cancer free after being diagnosed with breast cancer. It is an insidious disease that knows no boundaries. My prayer and thoughts will be with her family tonight.

Jay – This is a terrible tragedy for the George family. It was a sad day today to learn of such a loss of Karen George. Her life was taken so young. This is the second young woman that I’ve known this year that has lost their life to the ugly ‘C’ word! I personally have lost my mother & brother from ‘C’ and it holds no boundaries. My heart goes to Micheal and his family as they embrace the wonderful memories that Karen has given us all and her legacy that will stay with us and remind us of her ‘pay it forward’ attitude. What a wonderful tribute to Karen you have done today. God Bless Karen and her family at this very difficult time. Gently on my mind, Candace – Gilbert, Arizona

I guess God likes them good people and that’s why he wants them to be with him in the heavens. This is a very sad news indeed. I would love to chip in but I am travelling right now and I am not in the states, I’ll be back September 5th though. I am in a cyber cafe right now and I don’t think that it’ll be a good idea to use my credit card/paypal from over here.

May she rest in peace!

This is terrible =/

On the radio the other day, Rascal Flatt’s “Skin” came on and though I’m usually not a fan of the group (not quite sure why), this song brought a tear to my eye.

Having had relatives pass recently, mortality is really not something we think about too often. It’s sobering to say the least.

Here’s the YouTube clip (with lyrics) for those interested. Having a daughter myself, they’re really quite beautiful…

Hi Jay,
I am so sorry for your loss.

A very good friend of ours has been afflicted with this horrible disease. It is hard to comprehend how families cope with it when it is so difficult to deal with when a friend is stricken.

You know I always thank GOD everyday I wake up healthy and sometimes we may forget to thank a higher power for allowing us to wake up without major health issues.

My prayers go out to Karen’s family.
