It is essential for Builders and property developers to get on board with Realtors, I personally use the Realtors website on a regular basis looking at property and often see new builds. Their must be thousands of people see the same houses. It seems it would be silly not to use this marketing service.

I think that it is essential for the builders to get on board with the Realtors, They technically act as a broker for homes. I constantly look at property through realtor websites (new and renovations) and come across homes in their databases.

This current market crunch is actually working in our favor. Sellers and builders are now going back to the full service realtors and willing to pay for the service it takes to sell a house in this market. Also, builders are paying more in commission, so sales numbers might be down, but commissions are up.

Some of the builders were starting to give us a hard time too, now they are throwing open house parties in our “honor”! So funny, they never learn.

We see this in the rental market too. Nobody wants to pay an extra fee when they think they can do it without you. In business when companies cut spending, the first to go is marketing. The opposite should be the case, in tough times and good, spend on marketing and give to agents that bring you business.

I am glad to hear that the home builders are getting back on board with the agents. Hopefully when the builders numbers are back up they will remember who helped then through the tough times.

Jay – I still receive email from builders in Az. I remember when they wouldn’t cooperate with Realtors, now they are begging. Let em beg! Builders in Indy are different, they reduce the price. What a concept!
