I have not posted here before, but I have been in contact with Jay Thompson previously until he fell of the grid. Anyway, here's some good information....

Posting about Monster's scam on blogs is good. Going to the media about Monster's scam is good. Going to Tempe PD and asking them to press charges because David Sweetman is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor is useless, but good. But what Monster's victims really need to do is sue him in small claims court.

I did. My hearing was yesterday, and I won. Here's the thing...counting my case, Sweetman/Monster has been sued 13 times. Two cases are still pending, and he lost all the other 11, including mine. So, if you choose to sue him your chances are pretty good. You're tough to beat when you're right.

If something is wrong, you got to try to make it right. If you see a thief or a bully, you got to stand up to them. If you just lie down and let them steal from you, they're just going to keep doing it to other people. Trust me, win or lose, whenever you stand up to a scumbag like Sweetman you'll feel much better than if you just laid down for him. People are going to try to screw you over, that's life. But, are you going to make it easy for them, or are you going to make them work for it? Make the Sweetmans of the world regret picking you as a potential mark.

If anyone doubts this lot is a total scam, look it up on the Arizona Corporation Commission's site. As of last April, the ejoy internet cafe has a new owner. Any guesses as to who it is?...If you guessed David Sweetman, owner of Monster Towing, you would be correct. But ejoy is closed. So, yes, he bought that place just so he could have that lot to tow cars from it. Don't believe me again? You know how those signs say "Permit Parking Only"? Try to obtain a permit and see what happens. Hell, try to find one of these permit holders. You can't do it because they don't exist.

Anyway, if you're considering bringing suit against Monster/Sweetman, feel free to contact me. I did a lot of research, and would be more than happy to share all of my files with you. Perhaps they can help you obtain a small claims victory against him, just as I did. My email addy is bretlinden@gmail.com

I am also contacting all of the national news stations to let them know. If you can do your part and also contact them. We can get some national attention on this scam and expose the owners of the company.

Dateline NBC: Dateline@nbcuni.com
20/20 contact: <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=123566&page=1">http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=123566&pa...</a>
contact 60 minutes: 60m@cbsnews.com

Here is the letter I sent:

Dateline News Department,

I have a great story for you in Tempe AZ that affects people everywhere.

There is a huge towing scam going on with one particular parking lot in the City of Tempe.

Their signs fool people into thinking they can park on the weekends in this parking lot and hired spotters will let the tow truck driver know that another victim has parked. Within minutes, the vehicles are gone and people must pay a minimum of $155 to get their vehicles. The spotters could easily warn people not to park there, but they only call the tow truck driver instead. It’s quite a racket that I now understand is going on all over the country.

20 t0 30 cars per day are towed from this lot, which means it looks like this could be more profitable for the owner of the parking lot to split commissions with the tow truck company, than it would be to build a structure and have people pay rent on that structure.

This lot has been vacant for years and will continue to be vacant as long as the laws allow these scam artists to operate a highly profitable operation like this.

I was fooled by this scam and I went back that same day to warn 20 other drivers who would have also been victims of the towing scam.

The tow truck driver made an insinuating and underlying threatening tone that I should be careful about hanging out.

They made sure I was warned about not trespassing on their property. The police even warned me not to trespass on that property. More reason to believe they run a profitable business of tricking people and towing their vehicles and they don’t want me interfering by warning people to stay away unless they have a permit.

I started doing the math on how much money they rake in from that one parking lot, had I not warned all of those people, and I couldn’t believe how much money it came to.

I figure I saved people a total of about $3,000 last night alone, and I was only there for 8 hours during the evening.

Do the math. $3,000 per day is more than a million dollar revenue stream.

Here are links you can look at: <a href="http://www.kpho.com/news/14491350/detail.html">http://www.kpho.com/news/14491350/detail.html</a> <a href="http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/scam-alert-tempe-mill-llc-and-monster-impound-recovery-park-your-car-at-7th-st-mill-get-a-140-towing-fee/2407/">http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/scam-alert-te...</a> <a href="http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/towing-scam-the-day-after/">http://www.phoenixrealestateguy.com/towing-scam-t...</a> <a href="http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2009/05/tempe_changes_rules_on_towing.php">http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2009...</a>

Type in Tempe AZ towing scam and see what you come up with.

About 7,000 people per year fall victim to this scam from this one lot and you can help.

I would love to help you do this story and I know of many more people who would also love to help you.

Feel free to contact me anytime.

They got me, but I cut into their revenue stream by warning people all night. I helped 20 people. That's $3,000. That was only for 8 hours. If you do the math, that is more than one million dollars per year income stream. More profitable for the owner of the lot to share commissions than to rent a building to someone.

If more people would pitch in, we could cut way into their revenue stream.

All you have to do is pack a lunch and hang out warning everyone who parks there that they will be towed if they don't have a permit.

I did my part. Will you do yours?

Contact me if you want.

I thought it was illegal to put Graffiti on Private property, the Tempe Mill LLC does not own that electrical box, Graffiti is any type of public markings, so if I understand this, you can Break one law to enforce another, so now I question if Monster Impound & Recovery had any LLEGAL RIGHT towing anyone's vehicle at 701 S. Mill Street in Tempe (southeast corner of Mill & 7th St).

The mediation at the Arrowhead Justice court came to no agreement. Only the HOA attorney that also represents Monster Towing and a witness came. I had to submit a disclosure statement pertaining to whom and what I plan to take into the trial before I left the court.

The trial should occur perhaps in about six weeks. For any one interested in updates, desert standard.com will give details. Your comments are welcome and I plan on being prepared to deliver my case.

Beware - same situation at Fresh and Easy parking lot on 40th St. & Camelback. My buddies and I returned from a run on the canal, and our cars had been towed to Monster Impound. $117 to recover. Apparently there are spotters who watch for people walking off the premises and call the towing company. After the fact, we did see that they had signs on the 4 posts in the parking lot, but they were tiny and innocuous (as referenced in previous postings). Also a taxi on premises. Of course the ethical thing would be for the property manager post large, can't-miss signs, and have the have the spotters *warn* the drivers, rather than having cars towed. Likewise, the taxi drivers could warn people. But then they wouldn't make any money.
