Jay’s Opine: OK, I’ve been known to drive too fast. (And that’s been “documented” on more than one occasion.) I’ll admit that I’m a semi-regular at Defensive Driving classes. I despise photo radar. But this story is just plain nuts. And seriously, anyone who just throws their tickets away because they think nothing would happen if they didn’t pay them is not the sharpest pencil in the box. Does she think the city paid for and installed photo radar just for grins? The judge is going to have a field day with this one… I wonder if the publicity is good for her mortgage brokerage business?
Driver gets 70 speeding tickets in 5 months

PHOENIX, Arizona (Reuters) - As a mortgage broker in Arizona, Francesca Cisneros is used to working with big numbers. It’s the double-digit speed limits she has trouble with.
Cisneros racked up 70 speeding tickets in the last five months, a record for the Scottsdale Police Department, police said on Friday.
Speeding cameras in Scottsdale, a suburb of Phoenix, snapped pictures of the 32-year-old woman as she tore through the sun-baked city in her Honda Civic between March 2 and July 31.
“She told arresting officers she was speeding because she seemed to be late for client meetings all the time,” Scottsdale Police Department spokesman Mark Clark told Reuters. “I guess she’s got some time management issues.”
The second-worst offender in the department’s history accumulated a mere 25 tickets, Clark said.
Police said Cisneros said she threw her speeding tickets away because she thought nothing could happen to her if she didn’t pay them.
Clark said Cisneros faces some $11,000 in fines and could have her license suspended.

This report says it’s “only” 69 speeding tickets, 1 running a red light and two citations for driving with a suspended license.
Unpaid tickets catch up with woman
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 11 (UPI) — An Arizona woman who threw 69 speeding tickets away because she did not think anyone would come after her faces $11,000 in fines and, possibly, jail.
Francesca Cisneros of Chandler was caught 69 times by cameras set up to nab speeders in Scottsdale, the Arizona Republic reports. She was also caught on camera driving through a red light, and got two citations for driving with a suspended license.
In fact, Cisneros has set a record for Scottsdale for unpaid traffic tickets.
Cisneros told police she often runs late getting to meetings.

Top speed was 86 MPH on the 101. Still has a way to go to beat the record of the guy clocked at 147…

On 15 occasions, she was clocked speeding twice in one day, police said. She sped three times on two days, and was clocked speeding four times in a day on four occasions, police said.

Jay’s Second Opine: OK, I take back the “not the sharpest pencil in the box” comment. She’s an idiot, plain and simple.
