Seth Godin Live In Phoenix

.

I just got back from seeing Seth Godin, mega best selling author and "entrepreneur and agent of change" speak about The Dip, his latest book.

If you are in Phoenix and you missed it, that's a shame, as it was an *outstanding* presentation. If you are even remotely connected to marketing or business, you should be reading Seth on a regular basis.

I'll write more on it later. I just wanted to get this post up ASAP in order to beat Greg Swann to the punch for once! I suspect Greg will have something to say about Seth's talk…

Seeing Seth speak was more than worth the price of admission. But I also got five copies of The Dip as part of the package. I have a couple of them already tagged for distribution. But if you'd like a copy, drop a comment here and I'll pick a random winner to receive one hard back copy of The Dip (leave a REAL email address so we can coordinate delivery!). I'll pull the winner from a virtual hat at 5:00 Phoenix time (same as the west coast right now) on Friday….

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

John Coley - your comment was trapped in my spam filter, which I didn't find until AFTER the drawing. Sorry about that. I'll put your name in the "hat" twice for the next one.

I've been getting slammed with a couple of hundred spam comments a day, and some were starting to slip through the filters. So I cranked up the threshold some. I may have gone too far... I'll dial it back a little.

Damn the spammers!

I win I win I win! First, I'd like to thank Excel, for making this all possible, and a big thanks to random number generators everywhere, I love you all!

OK folks.....

I put all the names in a spreadsheet. Then I used the Excel formula "=RAND()*100" to generate a random number between 0 - 100 for each entry. Highest number gets the copy of The Dip...

Just to make sure I didn't get confused by the massive list of entries and random numbers, the formula "=max(A2:A9)" pulls the high number, and a formula of "=VLOOKUP(B11,A2:B9,2)" finds that high number and returns the winners name.

What can I say, it's the old semiconductor engineer in me...

Must have been that last second plea to the Excel gods...

I'm going to write up a post about The Dip in the next couple of days and we'll do another drawing.....

(watching clock) c'mon housechick....

I live in Phoenix and had no idea about this. Nor have I ever heard of Seth. But, reading his bog has definitely sparked my interest.

Pick me... Pick me! :P

Count me in, too! Looking forward to your full post on the subject.

Throw me into the v-hat as well. My luck is horrible, but these odds don't seem too bad.

What the?!??!?

Damn you MyBlogLog pictures!

Sigh... kick the sock out then. It's not like he can turn the pages anyway.

Ahem. Rule clarification... one entry per person. And pet mascots (be they real or puppets) don't count.

Nice try.....

Why not? Count me in. It could save a trip trip to Barnes & Noble.

Jay, I can't wait to hear your ideas and feelings on Seth's presentation. I am not sorry we do not live in Phoenix, but I'd have really like to be there for this. So get to schoolin us!

What do I have to lose? COMMENT! (Has no clue who Seth Godin is but can read and find out!)

Actually I tried to post a comment last week on the post where Greg talked about how you were number 3 in Google or something, but I do not think it ever got posted!

OMG! Housechick is selling it on eBay!
