If someone did a short sale in 08 and signed a deficiency note, but subsequently lost their job and was unable to pay the debt, what is the best course of action to take according to new law. if the bank is threatening a judgement against the short seller what is the short sellers option to resolve the issue especially since they have no job ? How long does a real estate deficiency judgement last?
