I used to be in apartment management and comments were left not just about the apartment community, but about ME PERSONALLY! Mostly kind comments, but one lude comment (that I guess a hooker would find flattering) that I requested be removed since I'm married... and not a hooker. The problem with these kinds of sites:
(1) MOST people that seek out forums to discuss their neighborhood are usually RANTERS instead of promoters. Realtors would likely be the only ones speaking positively about an area becaus it's their job to seek out ways to attract people.(2) Information shared is extremely subjective. Here would be my review of MY street: "dude next door mows his lawn only when his children get lost in the waist high grass. Dude on the other side of me tends to stand in front of my house and stare at it for "landscaping inspiration"... weirdo. Across the street is the mean lesbo who raises barky dogs- don't move here, this neighborhood sucks!" I would say that as a consumer because I'm on my way out. In the RE world, we know that the statement SHOULD be "I purchased a brand new upgraded Ryland for $143,000 which has appraised at $240,000 only 24 months later due to a new golf course community 100 yards away, not to mention a rockin' market. I didn't even upgrade the already designer interior and my Realtor will be listing the home for $210,000 for a fast and profitable sell." Now, we're not moving, this is hypothetical. The point is that as a consumer, I'm not going to go brag about the good, I'll probably opine about the bad.(3) As Jay noted, for this type of site requires a gigantic user network which is near impossible to captivate for more than a few minutes. That said, I agree that the site (in theory) has greatly improved over the past few months. They have the infrastructure to be a massively great site but with consumer tendencies and a lack of interest, it'll be slow goin' for the StreetAdvisor folks.

ApartmentRatings.com launched a few years ago and had similar functionality (minus sexy graphics and pics).
