Tag, I’m It… Meme’d Again

Damn these “meme’s” that float around the Blogiverse! You probably know how they work… someone with too much time on their hands thinks up some question (typically personal) and starts a post, “tagging” others to do the same, and it flies across the Internet. Before you know it, you’ve found out more about some people than you probably want to know…

Heather Barr at the North Phoenix Agent Blog tagged me.

Here are the rules for this one:

(1) list 7 things about yourself, (2) tag 7 people to do the meme on themselves including a link to their site.

Without further ado — 7 Things About Me:

1) I had my tonsils removed when I was 38 years old. I thought I was going to die. I lost 27 pounds in a month (and yes, it all went right back on. See #3).

2) I didn’t graduate from college until I was 38. (38 was an interesting year.)

3) When I got married I had a 28 inch waist. I now have a 40 inch waist. Francy makes me happy and is a great cook. Happy + food = expanding waistline.

4) I used to ride a bicycle at least 150 miles a week (hence the 28 inch waist).

5) I am the son and son-of-a-son of a preacher man.

6) I was the Senior Class President in High School. My platform consisted solely of the fact that I would be 18 by graduation — old enough to buy beer for the graduation party.

7) I’m a trivia junkie. I can recall obscure and meaningless facts, but likely can not tell you what I had for lunch yesterday.

Tag, you’re it! Dru, Dave, Mariana, Jonathan, Athol, Brendan, Diane.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

Hello....hello, can anyone hear me? I've been in denial about being tagged. Actually, I've been in my car/meetings/on the phone for the past two weeks solid and am just surfacing for air.

Eewww, I did not even consider sharing 14 things about myself. As my son would say, "too much information".

Interesting that people are surprised I'm a "PK" (Preacher's Kid). I've gotten that reaction all my life and never really understood it. I can attest that the old saying, "Watch out for the PK's they're a wild bunch" is indeed true.

Ginger - the drinking age law must have changed in very late 1981 or early 1982 (at least in Texas). Seems I remember being being barely 21 when it changed from 18 to 21 (and I turned 21 in October of 1981). I had several friends that were 19 or 20 when it changed from 18 to 21. They were none too pleased with the timing... ;)

I got tagged too! Loved the meme. My daughter had her tonsils removed a year and a half ago and it was terrible. I remember her laying in my lap, completely lifeless (she got dehydrated!). I have heard it is much worse when you are older. The weight loss would be one benefit. Too bad it came back. I think I better go ride my spin bike. Got to keep that waistline!

You could buy beer at the age of 18?? Hmmm. what year did that law change?

I sure didn't see #5 coming!

Christoph - I think Dru just needs to come up with 14 "things about her"... Duplicates on meme's are inevitable. But I tossed a coin. You lost. :)

Shailesh - I doubt I'll ever see a 28 inch waist again. #8 would have been "I like to eat. Lots"

And actually, now that I think about it, I probably could tell you what I had for lunch on any given yesterday. Most likely is involved fast food -- double cheeseburgers, pizza, Taco Bell. Think that could have anything to do with the loss of the waistline? ;)

You need to keep track of what you had for lunch if you're going to get back to a 28 waist... :-)

2 and 5 surprised me!

We both tagged Dru! Do you want to toss a coin?
