However horrible the incidents of war may be, the soldier who is called upon to offer and to give his life for his country is the noblest development of mankind.
Douglas MacArthur

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
- Elmer Davis

On this Veterans Day, Francy and I want to take a moment to recognize every man and woman that has served our country in the Armed Forces. Your service is honored and appreciated.

With a special thanks to our fathers:

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
Mark Twain

  • Jay - thank you for your tribute to our vets - I too appreciate all they have done and will do to make our Country a better place. Let Freedom Ring
  • We should all be thankful for the hard work and dedication our troops are showing in service to their county. Even if you do not believe in the war, believe in our troops and the sacrifices they are making for all of us.

  • Jay, I notice you bear an uncanny resemblance to your father (except he seems to be smiling more than you). Thanks for the post, it means a lot to all of us who have him, Francy's dad, my dad and many others to thank for being able to live free (or somewhat in debt) in America today.

I didn't know your dad was a chaplain. Is it true what they say about preachers kids? :)

My thanks and appreciation go out to your and Francys dads, and all others who've ever served.
  • Jay,

Thanks for posting this so often I feel that our troops sacrifices go unnoticed due to an unpopular war that they did not make the decision to fight in.
  • Really inspiring Youtube video. Thanks for that.

I wish I had an ounce of the brotherhood these guy experience on a daily basis.

  • Thank you so much for the video provided. It is very inspiring. I know that we should always and honor those people who serve our country faithfully.
  • Those video are really inspiring! I remember when - Douglas MacArthur tell our country that "he will return". Sad thing that he didn't.
  • God bless those who made it possible for us to enjoy the freedom we have today.
  • Thanks for thanking the vets. My dad was career USAF, my sister went to the Air Force Academy and her husband is a USAF Brigerdier General. There are tons of people serving presently, plenty who left and plenty who are gone and they all deserve recognition and thanks.
  • As I get older I find myself appreciating the veterans more, appreciating all of the sacrifices they have made. There is a special place in Heaven for them and their loved ones.
