The Best Damn Real Estate Blog on the Planet

best damn real estate blog on the planet t-shirt

I always wanted a Phoenix Real Estate Guy t-shirt, so when the e-coupon arrived from OvernightPrints.com (a fabulous site by the way) offering 20% off on a t-shirt, I no longer had an excuse.

Now they say that bloggers can develop an ego over time. Getting an inflated head over something like a real estate blog is just plain silly. Oh don’t get me wrong, I like to see traffic, and I love getting links and comments. I like it even more when the phone rings and people ask me to be their Realtor. That is after all, pretty much the point. So of course ego had nothing to do with the catchy little tag line on the back of the shirt. Who’s to say what is really the “best damn real estate blog on the planet”?

I do however now have a t-shirt that says it and I’m not too shy to wear it (if I can get it over my head). And we’ll see in a few minutes what Google thinks is the “best damn real estate blog on the planet”. (Edited to add: 9 minutes after posting this, Google made its decision)

Believe it or not, I’ve already had several people ask where they can get one. Some are serious, some not-so-much. OvernightPrints doesn’t have a “store” you can set up so others can order. But there are sites that do exactly that. Any recommendations?

Marketing a real estate blog off-line isn’t a bad way to increase brand/blog awareness. I’m going to order a few more. You just never know where these things might start popping up. . .

Updated: OK, if you really want one… Please note this one is slightly different than what is pictured above. Pick a shirt style/size, pick a color. You can also customize it! I get 10% for every shirt purchased, which I will donate to breast cancer research.

Jay – The understatement of the century – “bloggers can develop an ego over time“. Now add to that ingredient the egomania driven industry we eat, sleep and breathe and it’s a recipe for a terminal case of “bigheadatosis”. Where’s my t-shirt? :-)

Hahaha too cool. It’s kind of hard not to take advantage of offers like this, I’m guilty as charged too. But when you have a great site and it’s making money, why not make yourself into a walking billboard!

Congrats on the Google rank too, 9 minutes is one of the fastest indexes I’ve seen.

Jay,
This really is a cool idea. The online brand combined with the offline merchandise. Make sure you look to sign a deal with someone to represent all of your offline ventures :)

That’s to funny Jay. I have always been a big fan of novelty shirts. We have something called “bathtub weekend” here in Nanaimo, and every year for many years, myself and 4 friends would get together and have a little fun – part of the deal was, each year one of us was responsible for coming up with the shirts, ah youth.

Probably my favorite shirt (that I still have) is the “what happens at Google (Front) Stays at Google (back) that I had custom made for my team and I the last time we headed down to Google HQ – I gotta tell ya, they made quite the impact, and got people talking (even to us) – Just surfed the web looking for a pic, this is the best one I could find from Jim Boykins blog: http://www.webuildpages.com/seo-pictures/morgan-seoguy-jim.jpg

Was that directed at me? No it was not, in fact I didn’t write that blog being referenced, apparently this blog has a neat little feature that tries to determine a blogs last post – but for me, I didn’t write that, it’s just the last post by some other member in our group blogging community.

GMAC asked me if I was going to NAR next outing, I am considering it, don’t suppose it is in Vegas is it?

I love it! I’m ticked I didn’t think of it first. I have been printing t-shirts for a couple years now to hand out to former clients “I found my home on JustNewListings.com” and “real estate 2.0 where consumers win!” on the back w/ logo and all.

Anyway the t-shirt is excellent and a great gift to all clients in the past year and going forward, Jay.

Considering its a localised site, I think shirts are a great idea as they will mostly be worn around your home state.

Dear Toronto Lofts –

WTF? Seriously dude, you may want to lay off the alcohol.

I’m assuming this is some sort of auto-generated comment left in a lame (very) attempt to get yourself a back link.

But you see, it failed as I have the power to remove the link. I thought though about leaving it so people cold see how foolish you’re being.

Cool T-Shirt,

Did you get any traffic from it?

31 Jay - The Phoenix Real Estate Guy February 24, 2009 at 6:16 am

It’s virtually impossible to say if any additional traffic was gained. There is a lot of noise in the traffic numbers. I doubt it lead to much of anything significant.

BUT, there is *no question* that it’s a conversation starter. Several folks have engaged with me when they see it in stores, standing in line, whatever. And that is clearly a good thing.
