I'm a real estate broker in Phoenix, Arizona and the publisher of the Phoenix Real Estate Guy blog. I tend to drive too fast and scream at the University of Texas and Denver Broncos football teams. My two kids are smarter than most adults I know and my wife is simply amazing.
AgentPress is a specialized WordPress theme for real estate agents and brokers, powered by the industry standard Genesis Framework. With AgentPress on your team, you're empowered to get the most out of WordPress for online marketing.
Genesis provides the secure and search-engine-optimized foundation that powers any successful website. And AgentPress provides the specific listing and lead-generation functionality real estate pros need to succeed.
We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).
BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.
Wow is all I can say. I am glad I stumbled upon this video. These kinds of videos are truly an inspiration. I haven't been lucky enough to find a job I truly love yet. But, I am working on that right now. The difference it makes in your life when you aren't all stressed out about your job is well worth the effort to wait until you find a job you really do love doing.

Someone asked "what if you hate your job". Unfortunately, there are lots of people who do. I love what I do. If you are one of those in a job you do not enjoy, you have my sympathy. I know others in the same position and it's not much fun.
It's absolutely true. I left the employment of a large insurance company and formed my own agency. I've never worked so hard in my entire life - nor have I enjoyed myself as much as I do now.
Hard work does not have to be a negative.
If you truly love what you do and are willing to put in the hours to make it succeed you will find true happiness along the way.
Great speech, just wanted to comment and suggest that anyone who likes this speech should check the one out that was done by Jim Evans on you tube, do a search and you will see it. It's another great speech!
Thanks, I just had another D'OH! moment. (That's where I'm like, oh yeah, it helps a lot if I RTFM! (message in this case)
I work in a high-volume convenience store and have to deal with the flotsam and jetsam of human society. I really hate it but I have no marketable skills so I'm stuck.
I hadn't listened to that in over a year. It is one of those things you should revisit at least annually.
I skipped the video and read the full text so thoughtfully provided by you. Stanford unfortunately have not given a link to email the same. So, I have printed it, scanned it and am emailing it to all my contacts and family.
Thank you for sharing this magnificent speech with us. It is really moving and highly motivating.
MW - life is too short to hate your job.

Unfortunately, my POS PC doesn't have sound, so I can't listen to it, but let me ask, what if you hate your job?
I left a corporate job nearly two years ago to begin my own business. I absolutely have never enjoyed anything quite so much in my life. I am having a grea time. The key? I love what I do.

Jobs had been impressive with what he has done with Apple. That company has been wonderful in attacking a field once thought unimpregnible. They need to continue to be innovative as competition at them is increasing.

May I also suggest to MW that he can always change jobs till he finds one that he does not hate!

Phoenix Real Estate - Anything & Everything About it. Plus Random Musings....
I'm Jay Thompson, and I have a little blogging problem... Welcome to The Phoenix Real Estate Guy, or "TPREG" as I fondly refer to it.
My wife and I are co-owners of Thompson's Realty, an independent boutique real estate brokerage in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to real estate I was in the semiconductor manufacturing industry for longer than I care to remember.
There is a Fair Housing statement that I need to get posted here. In the mean time, just let me say this:
Discrimination is stupid beyond belief. We at Thompson's Realty simply will not discriminate against anyone. I don't care what color you are, how old you are, what your religious beliefs may be or what your "sexual preference" is.
What you are is a human being. We are too. And we'll treat you like we expect to be treated.
It really is that simple...
