The Phoenix Real Estate Technology Exchange is Born

News that FlexMLS would be replacing Tempo as the provider for ARMLS spread swiflty through the Phoenix real estate blog world.

This morning a new weblog was launched, The Phoenix Real Estate Technology Exchange (aka PRETexchange.com).

From the "about" page:

The Phoenix Real Estate Technology Exchange is a group weblog created by the Phoenix real estate weblogging community, by members of the Arizona Regional Multiple Listings Service (ARMLS) Board of Directors and by Michael Wurzer of FBS Systems, Inc. Its primary mission is to serve as an unofficial conduit of support and information for ARMLS members during the transition from Tempo to the flexmls on-line MLS system. Given the rapidly increasing role of technology in the practice of real estate, this mission is certain to creep into other areas of Realtor technology as time goes by.

The current contributors read like a who's who of Phoenix real estate blogging:

Gary Cumiskey
ARMLS President-Elect
DryHeat.com

Steven Groves
Real Estate Technology Consultant
StevenGroves.com

Greg Swann
Real Estate Broker
BloodhoundBlog.com

Cathleen Collins

Jay Thompson

Jonathan Dalton

DaltonsAZHomes.com

Michael Wurzer
President and CEO of FBS Data Systems
flexmls.com

Russell Shaw

NoHassleListing.com

This implementation promises to be one of the most blogged about real estate technology implementations ever. I'm looking forward to it.

Despite just being launched this morning, there is already some valuable information to be found at PRETexchange.com. More, much more, will be forthcoming.

If there is anyone out there that has questions, comments or concerns about the FlexMLS Web transition, fire away! This group blog is YOUR conduit to what is happening. If for some reason you don't want to comment there, contact me and I'll be happy to forward your questions and thoughts.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

Jennifer - Jonathan was LATE and didn't supply his photo in time for the roll out post.

I'll go in and fix it now that he's finally complied...

Hey - what happened to Jonathan's photo...he's all squished!

Thanks Mitchell.

Scott - FlexMLS has never been in Phoenix. We're just familiar with the limitations our current MLS has, and we're familiar with the CEO of FBS Data (who supplies FlexMLS) -- Michael Wurzer -- he clearly "gets it" and listens. That's what makes me excited about this change.

@Scott- I have my 2nd home in Pinetop listed right now, and I can definitely agree that while Tempo is not the best, it is definitely better than what you folks suffer with up there.

Thanks Mitchell.

Sounds like you guys have had this fluxmls before and are glad to have it back. We have Paragon up here in the White Mountains, and it seems to have quite a lot of limitations. -Just a little jealous.
