I was pretty sure I didn't belong in the class if that was a common result after sitting through an 8 hour education. Although I did deserve my ticket for Failure to Yield. The dude ran a red light and I did, indeed, fail to yield. I turned left directly into the side of his truck. Since I was the only one who walked away with a ticket, I felt somewhat better when I could drive my car home and he had to be towed. Not bad for small convertible vs. large truck. Now before someone goes off and accuses me of placing lives in danger for driving like a bat out of hell, let it be known that I was northwest of Kingman, AZ -- literally in the middle of nowhere. There was no one on the road for miles, accept apparently a Mohave County Sheriff. He was actually a very nice cop who cut my violation down to 85 in a 65 -- making it a civil speeding violation as opposed to a criminal speeding violation. (In Arizona, anything 21+ MPH over the posted limit is considered criminal speeding. Not a place you want to go from either a fine, hassle, or insurance rate perspective.) Cooper, leave it to you to ask… :)
