The Zonie Report - Arizona’s Multimedia News Source

I just received an email from Adam Klawonn, adjunct professor at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, associate editor of Phoenix Magazine, and the editor and publisher of The Zonie Report — a recently minted “multimedia news source”. Adam wanted to let me know about The Zonie Report (TZR).

TZR staff writers appear to be ASU journalism students. From what I’ve read so far, the writing is crisp and clean – as would be expected from students from Arizona’s highest institution of learning. (Sorry Kelley, but you know it’s true..)

Lots of stuff here folks… Feature stories, aggregated headlines, Zonie TV, the Editor’s ZonieBlog and more. It’s a veritable one-stop-shop for Arizona news.

I haven’t had a chance to fully explore The Zonie Report, but it appears very cool, and jam-packed with some great local info. Adam and his team have what may be a real winner here.

And it already beats the hell out of the Arizona Republic…

Jay, I met Adam Klawonn at a 5K race today. He ran the same race, wearing his web site advertising. He shared that the Zonie Report has been up for five years, and I joked that it must be hard to get any press from local papers. Nice guy. And we both agreed that it was a pretty small world, for me to walk up to him, and know that we had Jay Thompson in common!
