Thesis Rocks My World. A Weekend Special!

Thesis-A World Class Wordpress themeThesis is the Wordpress theme that is the framework of Phoenix Real Estate Guy. Finally, after trying dozens of different themes and viewing hundreds, I think I’ve  settled on the long-term theme for my blog.

It’s designed by Chris Pearson, a world-class Wordpress designer. It is not a free theme, but sometimes you get what you pay for. You certainly do with Thesis.

Chris is currently offering an amazing deal, but it only runs through Sunday. It comes on the heels of the release of version 1.1 of Thesis, which continues to build on the platform. The kicker in this weekend deal is if you purchase Thesis by Sunday, Chris will throw in his upcoming premium “magazine-style” theme Cosmo. So you are in effect getting two premium themes for the price of one.

TWO Premium themes for the price of one!

All Thesis themes come with free lifetime upgrades, and the user support is phenomenal.

I’ve only begun to touch the power of Thesis. I find Chris’ code to be superbly structured and very well commented, allowing me and my lame CSS abilities to do a lot. And if I get stuck, I know an answer is only a forum post away. (And with all the option and design panels Chris provides, you can do a lot of customizing without ever looking at a CSS or php file!).

Cosmo is rumored to be coming out in September, and it’s certain to be a winner.

You can get more details on Thesis, and the special offer here.

I use Thesis on my own real estate website. I love it.

Did you do your own custom css or did you hire someone to do it?

Hey Jay~
You’ve done such a great job “beautifying” my blog. Is this Thesis thing something I should look into? Or do you think it will be over my head? Remember, I’m only about 2 feet tall.

I think it’s time to upgrade mine. I tried a magazine-style theme once before but it took too much time to upkeep.

By the way, I LOVE the “Look Here” corner – is that a plugin?

Your new theme is wonderful and I do think you should stick with it. Very easy on the eyes.

I totally agree with sometimes you get what you pay for. I switched to Typepad and I am very happy at this point. My blogging life is a lot easier now and I see more people are reading it, plus the Typepad widgets (there’s a LOT of them) are very simple to install and they always work. I pay around $140 a year.

Kermit – Did it myself. It’s a struggle, but I learn more every day.

Amy – I have a developers license for Thesis, so you’ve got everything you need. I’m about to install the updated version which will EASILY let you change things like columns, sizes and fonts.

Hey Jay,

Brad mentioned this (and I was wondering the same), how did you do the corner “Look Here” fold? Now THAT is pretty awesome!

The “Look Here” corner is a WordPress plugin. It is available here. The plugin didn’t seem to play well with Wordpress 2.5, so I manually edited the Javascript files, basically bypassing the plugin functionality and managed to get it working. It’s a bit of a pain to get going, but seems pretty cool.

I’m no programmer, but it’s basically done with Javascript and SWFlash files. HOW it does it is beyond me.

LMAO!!!

I’m no programmer either, but you did a very good job with this one… it is SWEET!

Bet it improves your click through ratio’s!

Jay – Thanks to you, I missed Saturday entirely. Saw the post at 6:00 am and proceeded to give my little blog a face lift. I love Thesis! Thank you (sort of). Now I am off to see if I can get my little corner to fold down. :)

Jay – thanks for the post. I too have been looking through hundreds of themes. I have even purchsed a few that turned out to be duds. I think the best part of it is the support. Knowing the “the answer is only a post away” is huge for me. I am going to give these guys a shot.

Of course I find this theme just after the offer expires! I’m buying it anyway. I’ve tried tons of different themes for wordpress and this one seems the most promising.

I like the Thesis theme and the Revolution. I’m trying to decide between the two for a couple of our sites. Thanks for sharing about Thesis in this article.
