Manhattan parkingHere’s an awful picture I took of some Manhattan parking spaces when i was at Inman Connect in January.

If I recall correctly, these little gems would set you back $1,400 a month.

In this week’s Video of the Week, my city friend Rachel Natalie Klein from IntoTheBox.TV brings us a little more on parking in Manhattan….

So stop yer crying about finding parking in downtown Phoenix

Some parking spots in Manhattan cost more than the national median home price! So here’s a business idea — an MLS for parking spaces.

In another life as an equities trader I lived in NYC… Soho to be exact in 2000. My parking was $500 a month…… it didn’t seem like much considering my 1 bedroom loft was $4800 per month. I am ashamed to this day that I was foolish enough to spend so much money on an apartment…. live and learn.

I don’t think I’ll ever complain about parking again!

Holy smokes! I thought the traffic was bad enough when we lived in metro Atlanta (Duluth). I can’t imagine having the added insult of that parking nightmare on top of it!

I’ve lived in NYC for quite some time and it is all true. Parking really sucks there, and my parking bills each month were becoming all too high.

This is really no surprise to me…

I grew up in the burbs of Chicago, very close to downtown, and neighbors used to offer money to my family all the time to let them park in our driveway since we were one of the few homes built on two lots in that neighborhood.

250,000 for a parking space, does that come with monthly car washings and oil changes? Next time I go to downtown Atlanta and have to dish out 5 to 10 bucks for parking, I believe I will actually smile.
