Two Blogs, One “New” Blogger, All Great Stuff

in Site of the Week

In keeping with my often neglected but never forgotten desire to share new found blogs, I share with you the latest "Site of the Week"… (yeah, I know. It's more like "Site of the When I Get Around To It.) I know a few folks in the real estate blogiverse have already found these, but for those that haven't, you are missing some truly good stuff

April Groves has not one but two fantabulous blogs running. April is a Realtor in the deep South – Richmond Hill, Georgia (think Savannah suburb). Her "Making Life Work for You" blog has mostly a real estate feel to it, while "My Beautiful Chaos" is more personal.

Normally I try to highlight a post or two from the "Site of the Week". So here is a post written today that I can certainly relate to — deflating the Days on Market metric. Read this if you want to get an idea of what makes April tick. But don't stop there.

I'll say one thing about April. She gets it. And this chick can write.  OK, so that's two things. Live with it.

Wow! For a chick that can write, I don’t know what to say…thanks! I love it when people are nice to people they don’t have to be nice to. I really appreciate it.

think Savannah suburb

Jay, I’m dying! Not sure Savannah’s big enough to have a suburb. And Richmond Hill… Great town, up and coming for sure. But suburb? :)

You’re spot on about April, though. She’s top notch and truly gets blogging. I suspect she’ll be a superstar before too long.

Chris – what can I say? I’m not usually “geographically challenged”, but I’ll freely admit needing to Google Map Richmond Hill…. Savannah was the closest thing I could put in there that I thought most would know. But I’ve got roots in Southern Middle Tennessee, so at least I know where Savannah is — I suspect a lot of folks won’t even know Savannah without mapping it.

Now being an Army Brat, if April has said, “Ft. Stewart” I would have zoned right in…

Around these parts, anything within 50 miles is a “suburb”. But we’re in the wide open wild west out here.

Okay – I have to put a stop to the madness right now. Not know Savannah? Please. It only has one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parties in the country, second only to Boston. That’s pretty good company. It’s historic district is legendary. And if you know Savannah and not Richmond Hill, then you are missing out. A river rat such as myself loves living on the coast. And with four kids, the school system is a big plus.

So, since we are all friends, we will cease the insinuations that my beloved homeplace is obscure and knowable only through Google. (wow, did you know that the spell check in IE7Pro flags “google” as misspelled because it’s not capitalized…huh)

Far be it from me to cast about disparagement on any rural city. Richmond Hill is a veritable metropolis compared to the tiny town I grew up in Upstate NY. :)
