Everything looks fine to me, but I've only just spent most of yesterday setting up a WordPress.org blog. I decided it was time to take the plunge, and much like you, I love a good technology grudge match.

I readily admit, I almost surrendered, but I stuck through it. I hate shameless plugs but, if you had a speck of a moment, I'd love any feedback (www.vaughanblog.com). Content is very rudimentary at this point as I've focussed on structure only.

Nice to talk to you and keep up the inspiring work.

Hi Dru!

It probably doesn't really matter. Most (but not all) templates should be compatible with v2.3. It's possible you could select one though that isn't, so it could possibly be simpler to upgrade first, then chose a template.

OK, Now that I've decided I need a new template, my question is: Do you recommend upgrading WordPress first or getting a new template stabilized and going at it?

Hi Jay,

I am having trouble on my wife's blog upgrading to WP 2.3, mine went smothly but on her's I am receiving this error message.

WordPress database error: [Duplicate entry '1-category' for key 2]

INSERT INTO wpi4fmm_term_taxonomy (term_id, taxonomy, description, parent, count) VALUES ('1', 'category', '', '0', '1')

WordPress database error: [Duplicate entry 'blogroll' for key 2]

INSERT INTO wpi4fmm_terms (name, slug, term_group) VALUES ('Blogroll', 'blogroll', '0')

WordPress database error: [Duplicate entry '2-link_category' for key 2]

INSERT INTO wpi4fmm_term_taxonomy (term_id, taxonomy, description, parent, count) VALUES ('2', 'link_category', '', '0', '7')

I can access myphpadmin but I am clueles sfrom there. Mark Flanders is trying to help from the Soundbite Blog. He is trying to come up with a solution.

Don't wait Barry, or it'll never happen! WordPress is a solid platform, constantly evolving. It can be a little tricky to get going initially, but after that it runs very well…

Steve – I'm usually 2 or 3 rev's behind. I don't see the point in doing every single upgrade. I'm a plugin hound and liked the new feature of WP telling you when a plugin is updated. That's about the only reason I upgraded…
