Vote for The People’s Choice

Greg has posted this weeks short list of nominees for the Odysseus Medal competition. As usual, it's a brilliant collection of posts from across the RE.net.

One of our posts on the Aaron Anglin tragedy, Tragedy Begets Triumph: Why I Love this Community, was nominated. I've never voted for one of my own posts before, nor encouraged anyone else to do so.

But this week I'm going to ask for folks to at least consider voting for this post. Why? Donations to Aaron's family have basically dried up since Friday. When it comes to something like this, any publicity is good publicity as every single dollar helps. If we can get this in front of more people, maybe more people can donate.

We've done a lot of good for Aaron's widow and babies, but it's a mere band-aid on a gaping wound.

You can vote for the "People's Choice Award" here.

We always appreciate your comments! Phoenix Real Estate Guy uses two commenting systems, Facebook and LiveFyre. LiveFyre is the most robust system (and easy to use!). It allows you to login with Twitter, Facebook, Google+ LinkedIn, OpenId, LiveFyre and as a "Guest". I recommend getting a LiveFyre account, it has some great features (just click the LiveFyre button when you write your comment).

BLOG COMMENT POLICY: We respectfully ask that you use your real name (first name only is fine) and not use keywords (Why no keywords?). The only real "comment rules" are be civil -- no personal attacks -- and no advertising. (See the full comment policy here). Opinion and debate are welcome, but attack the idea, not the person.

Lani - you are more than welcome. My heart, the collective hearts of the re.net, ache for Aleisha, Eleanor and Mackenzie -- and for all that Aaron touched in his life.

"...and thank you for not letting this issue go."

I'll never let it go. The ribbon will stay on this blog for as long as there is a need. Sadly, I suspect that will be a long time.

Jay, I just opened my laptop for the first time in a week- THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I've told April before, but there is not an adjective that quite describes how big my heart swells knowing that you have taken charge of such a massive undertaking. There are not enough thank yous in the world for your kindness- I love you guys all so much and thank you for not letting this issue go. Aleisha will be fine for the next two or three months, but she'll still need the help and attention later on when her single mother home is still and silent.

God bless,

Lani
