We Only Get to Play This Game One Time

Here is a video of Gary Vaynerchuck’s keynote at Web 2.0 Expo NY. He’s 32 years old and has built a $50 million dollar business.

I love this guy. He’s passionate, and pretty freaking smart.

Some nuggets from his speech. There’s plenty more:

Smurf it up.
Stop crying and just keep hustling.
You have to do what you love.
If you don’t believe in what you’re doing, get out now.
The only way to succeed now is to be completely transparent.
We only get to play this game one time, one life.

WARNING: This video contains “adult language”. If the “S-word” and occasional F-bomb offend you, don’t listen. If you want to learn and think, then watch and listen.

Building Personal Brand Within the Social Media Landscape.

Vaynerchuck will be keynoting at Inman Real Estate Connect NYC in January. That alone is worth the price of admission.

I think this is spot on and brilliant. Your thoughts?

This sounds good, If this guy can do it, we all can. This shows that we have an opportunity just like he did to make a 50 million dollar business.

I watched this video a few days ago. There is a lot that real estate agents can learn from Gary. I am really stoked that he is going to be a Keynote speaker at Connect.

And it certainly doesn’t hurt that he is a Jets fan. :-)

OK, just watched the whole thing and I have to admit I was one of those that didn’t take the time to “get” Gary. Now I have.

Thanks Jay!

This guy is pretty funny. It’s cool that he came here and dropped a comment too. I agree with him on hi major points. My grandfather used to say . . . do what you love and the money will come.

Jay, I don’t know Vaynerchuck or Godin. But, I think it is pretty apparent that YOU are doing what you love. Just look at all the people who keep coming back here to see what you have to say. Best wishes always.

OK, I watched the whole thing and now I feel worse. What Gary said was right on, no doubt about it.

With some of the stuff I have been closely following pertaining to real estate associations, namely SAR in Sarasota I have to admit I am not very proud to be a member of NAR.

Jay,

I think that was a great vid. I saw it a few days ago posted on one of the forums I frequent. It falls right in line with much of what was covered during the Real Estate BarCamp in Houston, Texas yesterday. I noticed that you were peaking in on some of the workshops via video streaming done by ActiveBrad.

I work in the same office as Tom Johnson and I would like to let you know that you have created a monster with him and the url only business cards. Last few times I have seen him he has been pushing them on everyone. I think he took out a couple of people at BarCamp. If someone gets their eye poked out I am blaming you. JK

I used my new Flip mino to record the key note speech done by Paul Chaney. Do you think it would be a good idea to post that for everyone to watch.

@Jackson Hole. Thanks! Video is still working fine for me. Try refreshing the page. Sometimes embedded YouTube acts goofy. Here is the direct YouTube link if that doesn’t work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhqZ0RU95d4

@James - I think you should post Paul’s keynote. I watched about half of it on the live streaming feed but then the audio cut out. You may want to ask Paul or Mike Price for permission first just to make sure they don’t have some agreement not to publish (I’d be surprised, but it never hurts to be safe)

Hi Jay,

I’m new to your blog. Thank you very much for the video. My thoughts; you said it best, “I think this is spot on and brilliant.”

Absolutely inspirational and I can relate. I’m transitioning out of my Electrical contracting business to pursue our real estate business full-time (my passion). During the transition, we have been working all hours of the night, early morning, and weekends for the past year.

Hard work and perseverance does pay off.

Thank you again for sharing!

I think Gary was spot on about niche buildng. There was a lot to his talk that we as agents can learn from. I’m not really a blogger, but think it might be worth a trip to Inman to here more.
