MAJOR UPDATE!! HomeQuest has offered to sponsor up to $1,500 in travel expenses for this contest!!
Rules note: The full conference pass and the travel allowance are a package deal. Sorry, but if you’ve already registered for Inman, you aren’t eligible to win here — you can’t win the travel and give the pass to someone else. Hey, believe me, I’m paying for my own travel too, so I understand.

How cool is this?
Want to go to Inman Real Estate Connect in New York City Jan 7 – 9?
Of course you do.
Now, you’ve got a shot at doing it a whole lot cheaper.
In a post a few days ago I said I might do a drawing here for a free Phoenix Real Estate Guy t-shirt. I casually tossed out that it’d be really cool if Inman would offer up a full Conference Package pass to sweeten the pot…
Well what do you know. Offer up they did!
Yep, courtesy of Inman, you’ve now got a great shot at winning full admission to Inman Real Estate Connect NYC!
Here’s the scoop:
Leave a comment on this post. That’s all you have to do. Make sure the email address is REAL so I can contact you if you win! (your email is not displayed)
At noon (Arizona time) on Saturday Dec 6, I’ll pull a number out of a hat. If that number matches your comment number, you just won yourself a pass to Inman Connect NYC, which includes conference admission and one workshop.
What’s that save you?
How about $939 bucks! ($769 if you register before Dec 7 – Inman members get an additional $100 off.)
Here are some important things to note:
Sorry, travel/hotel/expenses are not included. I’m going to try, TRY mind you, to find some bright, innovative vendor to sponsor travel/hotel costs. But no promises. You need to plan on covering travel and hotel costs yourself. Find a room mate to split the hotel and it’s really not that bad (I’ll help you track someone down. I’ve done it, they aren’t too hard to find.)
UPDATE: HomeQuest has offered to sponsor up to $1,500 in travel expenses for this contest! wOOOt!!!
This pass is only good for people that are not already registered! If you’re registered now and win, you do not get a refund! Those are Inman’s terms, deal with it.
Oh, and the winner also gets a free Phoenix Real Estate Guy t-shirt!! And you HAVE to wear it for one day at Connect. Those are my terms, deal with it.
(hey, at least I’m not asking you to wear the same shirt for three days…)
Why go to Inman Connect?
Tons of reasons. The people you can meet and contacts you can make are amazing — CEOs, company founders, media mavens (traditional and new media), founders of start up companies, agents and brokers from across the planet. Really really smart and innovative people.
The schedule is jam packed with terrific speakers and engaging topics— Gary Vaynerchuck, Internet branding wizard. Robert Shiller, Yale economics professor and the Shiller of the Case-Shiller Home Price Index. Craig Newmark, founder of some Craigslist thing on the internet. And many (MANY) more.
Then there are the workshops. Bloggers Connect (my favorite!) is being revamped this year. A Digital Video Summit and Internet Marketing Bootcamp are a couple of other great options.
Wait, there’s more! The day before Inman Connect is REBarCamp NYC! Not familiar with the BarCamp concept? It’s difficult to explain, but trust me, it’s very very cool. Check the main Real Estate Bar Camp site for info.
Here’s what Brad Inman himself has to say about Real Estate Connect New York:
So leave a comment here, win yourself admission to a world class conference and I’ll see you in Times Square in January! Just be sure to pack that t-shirt!

I’m in it to win it!!!

Pick me, pick me!!!
I am a new agent in the business only 2 months, you know how it is for us newbies, we are poor
Besides I need to keep an eye on the competition and see what they are eating

I’ve thought long and hard … I can deal with the shirt as long as you don’t make me wear a name tag. Whoever wins, it’s a great opportunity being provided. Thank you.

Would love to win the pass to the conference but to wear the shirt? Priceless.
Great contest and great idea.

We would love to win! Andof course wear the Tshirt. I’m a native Phoenician you know.
We just launched LuxuryRealEstate4Charity.com (in Southern California for now and expanding across the U.S. starting in January).
It’s a new site where agents can use “social media” tools (video featuring the agent actually selling the home, agent profiles, send video to a friend via email, post video to your blog etc.) to sell their properties online and give back to the community.
When a property is sold, the agent and/or seller donate a portion of the real estate transaction fees to Habitat for Humanity in the community where the home resides. Habitat then creates a video to document that donation.
The agent can use the property videos and Habitat videos to show sellers how he/she is marketing properties online (where 34% of buyers come from).
2media has and will continue to implement an extensive PR & Marketing Campaign to drive affluent buyers to the site. Good stuff!
Uh… twist my arm here.
Thanks for showing up at Beer with Bloggers via live video feed today, Jay.

This is just too cool! I had resigned myself to using the #notatInmanNYC09 hashtag for those days. Now, there is a glimmer of hope. Running outside to wish on a star …..
Ok, so I’m really hoping the lucky number is 8… I’ll rock the t-shirt and the conference!
Good luck everyone!
Jay,
Do you have XXL t-shirts or will I be disqualified because you’ll have to special order a jumbo t-shirt.
SCHWEET! another shot to go to Inman for free!
PS: Jay, stop advertising this post. You’ll greatly skew my odds of winning by doing so

I should win because when you hosted the Carnival of Real Estate, you picked my blog entry……I’m special : )…….I’m a Winner!
My odds are better at winning this than the RE Biggest Loser! I guess I’d actually have to get off my duff and enter the biggest loser contest to have a chance at winning it. After I put my frappuccino down I’ll consider it…
Jay, you rock!
This event is going to be our best yet. And it’s probably one of the most important events we’ve ever hosted. We’ve got over 850 people registered already! I think people realize the importance of figuring out what they can do to help their business in these crazy times and they’re willing to invest the money to make it to Connect.
I was looking online yesterday at Hotels within walking distance of the conference. There are several that have rooms for around $100 a night. Not bad considerning it’s Times Square area. Plus, airfare is down now that gas prices have finally fallen. So, attending the conference is really not too bad. Especially if you can split room costs with someone like you mentioned.
Anyway, thanks again, and I’ll see you in NY!
-Jeff

Free pass would be amazing! I’ve even got a place to stay in NYC for free (and can take the commuter trains from CT to get there). I hope this is my lucky number.
Now see here, I’m tired of the big blue skies, the crisp freshness of the mornings, the snow-capped mountains, the darn Chile. Give me the mean streets of NYC, the crowds, the bustle..and most of all of course the great airplane food between here and there. I’m strong, I’m keen and I’m ready.

Thanks Jay! Hope to see you in NYC!
I tried to enter yesterday on my BB but couldn’t sneak past the CAPTCHA.

Jay – what a GREAT way to get a ton of comments on an already popular blog! By the way, I will be at the Lake Travis HS semi-final football playoff game tomorrow at UT Memorial Stadium. The never let high school teams play there – unless it is self-serving. Well, it is. Garrett Gilbert, the LTHS QB will be playing for UT. He already broke Colt McCoy’s touchdown record and isn’t far behind Graham Harrell’s yards record. The kid can run too. They call him Vanilla Vince.
T-Shirt and Inman for the Win! Thanks for the offer Jay…

I would kill for a chance to go to NYC for Inman Connect…just kidding. But would love to go.

HomeQuest Real Estate Software just made an amazing offer. They are willing to pay up to $1,500 toward travel to Inman Connect!!
No whammies no whammies no whammies aaannd STOP!
Be happy to toss my hat in the ring, as it were…
Inman also negotiated lower rates on rooms at the Marriot through the 17th of December. Retroactive to those that previously registered and paid too!

How cool is Inman to offer such great prizes? And how cool you are to Tweet this for all of us to give it a shot. Although I didn’t win the Set Godin Book, “Tribes,” I might just win this one. I’d love a trip to beautiful NYC. (I need an extra-extra large T-shirt. See you there! LOL)

in the name of full disclosure why dont you tell people how much YOU are being paid for your little link baiting traffic generating contest?
Absolutely – that is FANTASTIC.
If I win I will happily wear that t-shirt during the conference and tell the world where I won it.
But, please, not an x-large. I am so tired of winning x-large t-shirts that are so big that two of me could fit in. There’s only one of me…
What an amazing chance you’ve offered here. Seriously, life changing conference and a sexy shirt! Too, cool! Thanks for the opp!
to Anonymous 12.05.08 at 2:35 pm
Who gives a poo?
This is fun stuff, you should go find a life…
Dear “Anonymous”
**sigh**
How much am I being paid? Sure, I’ll disclose that.
Zero.
In fact, it’s costing me about $25 for the t-shirt.
Link baiting? Hardly. There’s really not much of a point in someone linking to this post. Dustin did from 4Realz because that’s kinda what 4Realz does. It’s not like I’m requiring anyone to link to this post to enter. THAT would be link baiting. Look it up.
Traffic building? OK, so maybe a few extra Realtors found this site and left a comment. I seriously doubt any of them will be buying or selling a home in Phoenix. (though if any are interested…. )
Yeah, I get someone wearing my shirt for a day at a conference. A real estate conference in a city 2,500 miles away. I’m hoping the guy selling hot dogs in Times Square hits the site and decides to buy a home in Scottsdale. That’s my plan, I’m sticking to it.
Jeepers dude, can’t someone just run a fun little contest and give someone an opportunity to attend a great conference?
In the name of full disclosure, how about leaving your real name?
By the way, you aren’t eligible for the contest because I’m pretty sure dick@dick.com isn’t a valid email address.
Now scurry along and troll somewhere else please.
Did someone say free PREG T-shirts? I offically throw my hat into the ring!

Just when I was getting ready to paypal Jay for a t-shirt, he tweets about this contest.
Im also #60…Voting for myself twice! Is that allowed??
You folks are welcome to comment all you’d like, but only ONE entry goes in the hat!
Also, I’ll order a shirt in whatever size the winner wants. I’m going to add something about HomeQuest on the back thanks to their generous offer to foot the travel ($1,500 max — do ‘em a favor and don’t fly first class).
And you’ve GOT to wear the shirt for one full day at Connect. Dems the rules.
As for the weather in NYC in Jan, remember — I’m a Phoenix guy. I don’t even own a coat. But last year, it there were record highs in NYC for Connect. It was 65. (Which probably means it’ll be 20 below this year.)
And someone better buy me a drink or two…
I’m giving it a shot…awesome blog…I’ve been missing out on a lot! If I win..I’ll buy you a few drinks..hmmm…and lots of food!
I would be thrilled to win this, Jay I would spring for the drinks.
I may as well throw my hat in the ring.
