Those that have read here for awhile know my daughter is in the Highland High School Marching band (and various other HHS bands as well).
The Highland Marching Band is the reining Arizona state champion high school marching band, I might add! (Fair warning, that linked story makes some people cry.)
Highland (and Gilbert schools in general) has a wonderful music program, but running these programs costs money – and sadly budget cuts have hit hard. Trust me, band parents write a fair amount of checks to the band department, but we are always looking to raise more funds.
One band family is offering up a beautiful helmet autographed by Arizona Cardinals star Kurt Warner (retired and on the way to the Hall of Fame) and another band family is providing a protective display case.
The helmet and case will be raffled on October 8th. Tickets are a measly $5, or five for $20. That’s crazy cheap folks. You can buy an autographed Warner helmet and case here for $441… Forget that, buy a few tickets and help out the band kids instead. If you win the raffle, score! If not, you’ve done a really good thing for some really great kids.
Tickets can be purchased at any Highland High home game (Sept 10 vs. Westview or Sept 30 vs. Mesquite), at the Highland Band concerts on September 23, or at the Marching Band mini-camp this Saturday, Sept 11 from 7am – 3:00pm.
This thing is going to look cool on my bookshelf – but I want LOTS of competition…
